Sad and tragic. I support Israel, but things could have been done differently, maybe it would have eased some of the tension we now face today. Shalom.

What nonsense.
From 1948 until 1967 Jordan was in control of the West Bank and the old city of Jerusalem. Egypt was in control of the Gaza strip. Syria was lobbing shells into Israel. But the plight of the Palestinians is Israel's fault? GIVE ME A BREAK!! |

The truth is that Israel is there to stay. Until the Arabs realize this there will never be peace. Hard liners calling for the destruction of Israel better hope that Israel continues to listen to the UN. Otherwise Israel may not stop the next time the Arabs attack and take over all of their territory.

Prior to 1948 there were Palestinians already living in the territory now known as Israel "grumpy". Many of them were forcibly evicted from their homes and their land. You think 60 years of anger, strife and warfare is all much ado about nothing? |
|
How many were forcibly evicted from their homes? They fled because Arab propaganda depicted Israelis as monsters. Those who were evicted were those who were in the middle of a war zone. They were not living in the land originally designated as Israel. You qualify your opinion by equating Israel today with Israel in 1948 I keep posting these facts over and over but it doesn't seem to matter. In 1947 the UN designated the the West Bank and the old Jerusalem as a Palestinian state and gave Jordan to mandate to create that state. Jordan didn't, and in 1967, when Jordan attacked Israel, the area came under Israeli control. The Gaza strip was part of Sinai until 1967. The Syrians were lobbing shells from the Golan Heights into Israel until 1967. Any income the West Bank people had was from work in Israel. With all the Arab wealth, a viable Arab society for the Palestinians could have been created, but it suited Arab purposes to have an unhappy Arab population with which Israel has to deal. |

1 After all. Considering that the Arabs had been illegally occupying Israel for about 1878 years. The Romans dispersed the Jews illegally and the Ahabs moved in as squatters and have been illegally occupying the land ever since. |

Read in the Book of Genius where God describes the land grant he gave Abraham. That is a deed if I have ever read one. Most modern day deeds read the same way. You know what? It really does not matter whether you, I or anybody else believes that deed is real or not. Very soon Israel will acquire all of the land God promised her so many centuries ago. |

I'm glad I was able to give you a good laugh. |
See the movie or read the book "Lawrence of Arabia" and tell me how many people there are in the land now called Palestine. And how peace loving these dessert tribes were. What history did you read? |

2 problems here 1) i am agnostic 2) democracies adhere to a separation between church and state |
Interesting since the Palestinians claim a right to Israel or parts thereof based on the Bible also--don't they? |
