Ireland overwhelingly votes Yes to lisbon

Rejecting the naysayers, the far left, rsf, the extreme catholic groups and the other members of the lunatic fringe Irish voters yesterday voted an overwhelming Yes to Lisbon, thus ensuring economic recovery, greater european integration, mulitculturalism and forward thinking.
Three cheers for the Irish electorate!

RTE reports:
Count staff started opening ballot boxes at 9am, and the sorting of votes is continuing.

As the ballot papers are being sorted, a clear picture is starting to emerge from tallies, which is showing a decisive swing to the Yes side.

A final official result is expected at around 5pm.

The first partial tally came from the constituency of Carlow-Kilkenny - which was exactly 50-50 in the first Lisbon Referendum, but is now said to be running two or three to one in favour of the Treaty.

Indications from other constituencies appear to be the same - the Yes vote is reported to be up everywhere.

The name calling and vehemence was started by the no side, claiming the minimum wage would be reduced to €1.82!!!! where was the maturity in such claims? The No side WAS (fact) dominated by extreme right wing catholic groups such as coir (The political wing of the youth defence) and Republican Sinn Fein (the so called political wing of an active terrorist organization also involved in drug dealing, arms dealing, and other criminal activity), I stand by calling this hotch potch of loonies what they are.

By saying economical recovery, is just a way of scaring people or the devils temptation.
Ireland has done well over the last 10 years and more. You do not have to give your democracy away.
Mulitculturism, you should say the destruction of ireland. If a city name still exsists but the people not, is it still really progress or conquering.
Its not a when you let them in and outbreed you. but the results the same.
Now the thing is when will you be allowed to vote again on the treaty, Think about it.

yes, i think the whole of europe and the world will suffer in a few years from the lisbon treaty, lets hope the czechs can string it out until the UK can get anew government and have areferendum, this lisbon treaty allows the idiots in brussels to let in turkey, russia, and even china if they so wish without you even having another say, i bet the "yes" camp did not tell you that did they!
