Top Pentagon military officer expects to recommend more troop reduction in Iraq this fall

The Pentagon's top military officer said Wednesday that he is likely to recommend further troop reductions in Iraq this fall.

Adm. Mike Mullen, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said that on his recent trip to Iraq, he found conditions had improved more than he expected.

"I won't go so far as to say that progress in Iraq from a military perspective has reached a tipping point or is irreversible — it has not, and it is not," Mullen told a Pentagon press conference.

Total BS. If you believe what the pentagon says then you are dumber than a bag of hammers. This is nothing but politics to try to help McCain. The surge failed completely. US imperial storm troopers will be in Iraq for decades, or at least until the US is bankrupt (so they may be home in a few years).

So much for military secrets. May we have the torn, already opened envelope for the Intel shop please.

Of course that's a tell-em-like-it-aint technique too.

The Joint Chiefs chairman says we need to get troops out. The Iraquis want a timetable for us to get out entirely.

Now, somebody needs to convince Bush and McSame.

Funny, but the photo that accompanies this article's headline here is Gen Pace, who is NO LONGER the top Pentagon officer. Admiral Mike Mullen is. Is there something the Pentagon (or Topix) is not telling us?.

yes our top military leaders and the iraqis themselves as well as the american people say its time to leave iraq---the trouble is the same miserable little man who got us into this mess is the only one who can end it and he still is spouting his same worn out blather and coming up with excuses of why we cant bring the troops home.......sadly the white house is already hinting that more troops will be sent to Afghanistan.........

..for a guy who loves war so much you'd think our draft dodging president wouldnt have worked so hard to avoid going to vietnam.

This guy will suddenly "retire" within a week.

Like Zinni, Odom, Shinseki, and other top generals have when they have spoken the truth against General Bushilisimo.

This fall? Right around the election. I predict the puppet regime in Iraq right now will be voted out in their own election in Oct and replaced with religious fanatics. The newly democraticly elected government will demand that the US and the few other countries that havnt already bailed out of Iraq will be asked to leave, asap. The Iraq stradigy is based on the political atmisphere in the US, not whats happening on the ground in Iraq.

Are you telling me Obama is right again? Obama was right on Pakistan (conducting strikes inside Pakistan), right on talking to enemies (North Korea), Afghanistan becoming a major issue again, and getting out of Iraq and focusing on Afghanistan. In present time, what has McCain been right about? I thought he was the foreign policy expert, right now he is 0-4 as of today.

It wouldn't be nothing new...people don't know that Donald Rumsfeld is still on the Pentagon payroll.

That doesnt surpise me. How much is he getting?

Nothing surprise me anymore. The USS Liberty, saved from being Deep Sixed by a Russian Spy ship that came to see what all the fighitng was about.
On orders from Lyndon Johnson and McNamara, 172 sailors were killed and in Arlington Cemetary, there tombstones do not mention Isreal, or the USS Liberty False Flag operation.

Just clik the Google Video and see!

Yep ... another one of those traitorous, malcontent "disgruntled employees" who have a secret liberal agenda of evil against the ever-so-noble and always-correct Bush administration.

Geeez ... these guys are popping up EVERYWHERE!

"... further troop reductions in Iraq this fall."

How conveniently timed.

Another of those incredible, amazing "coincidences" that seem to follow the neo-con agenda-cheerleaders everywhere.

Folks the Iraqs want us OUT. Has nothing to do with Pace or Mullen. Bush wants his agreement with the OIL Companies . So he is even willing to throw the Contractors under the BUS. The Iraqs will soon be able to prosecuted them for murder.

And old man War Monger Mc Cain will say, MY FRIENDS you see all this time I have been Right. The Surge has worked, meanwhile more American and Iraqs DIE, But good old War Monger Mc Cain will say it is worth the sacrifice to fight an illegal unecessary War base on Bushes gut feelings. There was no evidence that Sadam was invovled with 9-11. Bush LIED and many have died.

Yes indeed, headings like these attracts lowlife scumbags like poop attracts flies...That’s precisely why terrorists love their gutless rhetoric so they can weigh the resolve of the American people and react accordingly. No telling how many IEDs were planted on the behalf of scum on this forum and congressional democRats who tried their best to undermine the war effort.
Along with their legacy of slavery history will bestow a legacy of treason upon the democRat Party for all time...enjoy.

Yes indeed, The Obamanation is going to pollute Iraq with his presence soon...I'm sure he will be as welcomed as Pelosi who stunk the place up. Oh boy, here comes an inept bag of manure who voted against the mission in Iraq and now wants to take over the mission in Iraq...That's another despicable Obamanation Flip-Flop and a slap in the face to those pulling the wagon. The message from the Iraqi people and The United States Military should be: "Keep The F Out, Jackass."

If US Forces in Iraq were attacked by Iran, pompous astute democRats like Obama would take time to study and evaluate the environmental impact and conclude The United States Military must use the resources they already have on hand and look to the wind and sun for help...And of course the entire middle east would be laughing their asses off, just as they are doing now.
