tudy: Type of birth delivery can affect sex life

Full story: Newsday

One reason given for the rising number of women who choose to deliver their babies by optional Cesarean section is that this mode of delivery protects the pelvic floor from damage that may cause incontinence or sexual dysfunction.

Bull. If a woman enjoyed sex before the baby it should be the same after. Unless she is not getting enough help from her husband and others so that she wouldn't be to tired for sex.

Some of these tests are stupid.

This is so stupid. Women have had vaginal deliveries since the beginning of time without any problems.

This is just another excuse to not have sex. I had two babies without any problems.

It doesn't stretch you out either. I'm still a snug fit.

There is a longer recovery time with C section and you have a scar.

Are you people deficient? The article makes perfect sense - of course something as physically damaging as childbirth can have lasting effects on the way things are felt. The article isn't saying "vaginal birth is the worst thing anybody could do, everyone should have c-sections, or not have babies at all" or something - it's just stating the (what I always thought was obvious...) fact that childbirth generally causes physical damage, and states a specific common result of said damage...

It also doesn't say that if you give birth vaginally, you're DEFINITELY going to have a harder time enjoying sex - it's just about statistics. You'll be LIKELY to have some discomfort for at least a while after, and more likely than people who did not give birth vaginally for this discomfort to last longer...

Some cesarean sales profiteer probably
wrote this hoping that women would put
up with the needless risks of complications and blood loss in exchange
for the temporary convenience of avoiding some pain, hard work and
possible stitches.

The study was done in Iran (??)
Interestingly enough, 73% of the respondents also claimed that the Holocaust never happened.

The study is blown way out of proportion. The statistics of there being any problems are very unlikely.

After my second child I went back to sex before I was even supposed to and never had any problems. I just made sure I was careful. Back then they said to wait six weeks and that was too darn long.

This study leaves a lot of questions. Was there a breastfeeding correlation? What percentage of the women returned to work and did this affect the outcomes? How well were the mothers bonded to the babies and again was there a correlation? What kind of postnatal support was available to these women?

Lots of questions to be answered before this study can prove anything.

I had a natural birth; baby came out my vagina. Six months later I was finally able to have sex again and I've been wearing out my boyfriends since; I have them begging for mercy.:-)

This tudy( aka study)is a crock of crap, let me explain.

I am 48 years old and had a vaginal delivery,I have several friends who had all of their children via C-Section,they could care less if they never had sex again I how ever had to get a younger man to keep me satisfied.

This "tudy" lol was done by a man to explain why his wife won't put out, perhaps he can't perform.
