What Can Washington Do About Iran?

Dec 6, 2012 | Posted by: roboblogger | Full story: Mother Jones

The current U.S. strategy is not exactly a raging success-perhaps detente rather than military power is how we might breach that Wall of Mistrust with Iran.

Well done, ocxz!

I hope you haven't wasted your efforts on Kenny Boy. I don't really think he's listening, to tell you the truth.

Ravaler sa fierté, would be a start, but with statements from him such as:

"There is absolutely no doubt around the world as to good and bad"

you just know there is a LOT of educational work to be done.

Sweden never should have let you oinkers in. The coup was a British MI5 enterprise, and no historian disputes that. The oil facilities that Iran stole were the result of British exploration and refining at British expense, and Iran outright nationalized them like a thief in the night. Thereafter Iran simply couldn't master the oil business. Even today the Iranian clowns cannot drill, exploit, and refine its own oil efficiently. Poverty in Iran then as now was a result of its corrupt government and general ineptitude. Iran was simply not a democracy in the 50s, and again that is indisputable. The lynchings in the USA ended well before 1950, with a handful of exceptions, and had nothing to do with democracy per se. President Obama publicly extended his hand to Iran's midget puppet and had it slapped away: did you forget that or are you just lying again? There is absolutely no doubt around the world as to good and bad, and Iran and its buddies North Korea, Cuba, and Venezuela lead the bad pack, a pile of pig shit.
A pile of pig shit is a compliment to Iran. Don't waste your time arguing with these ignorant, brainwashed, unemployed, morons...

LOL, you wouldn't know truth if you sat on it! Neither you nor the hermit of Reunion are in any hurry to live in Iran. Why is that?

However, I agree with the comment on failed translations. However, clearly, Ahmadinijad has often and loudly suggested that Israel should no longer exist, at least as a Jewish state, and that that end should be attained by whatever means does the job.

The Iran coup was an MI5 initiative and the CIA participated actively. The coup was not arbitrary, as you well know. I personally think it should not have happened, but I cannot rewrite history as you seem to try to do.

If Iran is all that you claim, why is it their buddies are those scum-countries I listed, and few others? Why is it the Arabs do not trust Iran? Why does the IAEA not trust Iran? How goes human rights in Iran? Do you claim that Iran is not arming and training terrorists and in close cooperation with rogue states like N Korea?

Israel exists legally and has a right to defend itself (as does Iran for that matter); beyond that, I am no great defender of Israel. Israel has exceeded its legal borders, in some cases as a matter of self defense, but in too many cases illegally and without justification. I rather like the way the Obama administration is relating to Israel at the moment.

The issue is Iran. Your misdirections about Israel or the USA or the KSA simply dodge the issue, as do you ad homonyms. What is Iran going to do about Iran?

Sans doute. But he's going nowhwere. He figured he'd reached adulthood at 18 and from that moment on he decided to use his "ripe age" to bluff knowledge. He gets flashes in his head of how things should work (based upon his prejudices and ignorance) and then passes it off as "fact".

Education doesn't impress him, nor does experience. He's fond of referring to people with formal schooling as "educated idiots". His own views are gathered from eavesdropping on Saturday night drunks, down at the local pub.

That's all you have, insults. I have never used the phrase you placed in quotes. We have no pubs in my area, but we do have highly educated folks. I am more educated than you, and more experienced. That is why it has been so easy to slam your Islamist bullshit. Hey, today is the 40th anniversary of the day the last man on the moon departed on that mission, a mission largely engineered right here in my town where I live. What has Sweden engineered, the Saab? What has the Islamic world given us, just hate? Go home.

or not:

"GAZA CITY — Khaled Meshal, the political leader of Hamas, gave a defiant speech on Saturday, vowing to build an Islamic Palestinian state on all the land of Israel, the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.
Speaking before tens of thousands of supporters on the 25th anniversary of the founding of Hamas, Mr. Meshal said the Jewish state would be wiped away through “resistance,” or military action.“The state will come from resistance, not negotiation,” he said.“Liberation first, then statehood.”

Iran supports various Palestinian antiIsrael NGOs financially and militarily. Iran purports to be the base and catalyst for the coming of the 12th Imman. Iran generates mountains of antiWestern and antiIsrael propaganda. They are all interconnected and pertinent to this topic.
