It is clear you do not know Iran and that you have sinister objectives.
You are the one that attack the government and start this debate now you know you are wrong so you try to back away, your post started well but you had to put that rubbish at end, there was no need for that if this is indeed thread about stereo types.
I know your game it is Iranian people are good and must be saved from tyrannical regime
You as a sick person to make trouble for Iran
I don't think Iran likes jews. I lived in Esfahan & really enjoyed the food & the people were very nice. I had a big problem learning Farsi. I think iranian men tend to be "show offs" are materialistic & think ALL american women are whores altho they are sexually attracted to them.

American women are attracted to ALL foreign men , being iranian , french or nigerian ; simply because most americans are redneck villagers , urban dwellers are too poor to ever travel abroad LOL, the only reason you wouldnt sleep with an iranian is because you think he is a terrorist so after having sex hell put an AK-47 up your c*** and BAM!

obviously you have the luxury of not having to worry about stereotypes, seeing that you are a white person. FYI- the negative stereotypes that are perpetuated in the west against people of middle eastern decent oppress these people as much as their government does.

That is not a true statement about Jews nor about viewing American women as sluts. May be, in your particular case alone!

Iranian regime is despicable.
Marzieh Vafamehr, an Iranian actress was imprisoned for appearing in an Australian film critical of the Islamic Republic's regime.
There's zero freedom.
If it was the same over here you would be serving a 3000 year sentence with 50,000 lashes.
That has kind of a nice ring to it. lol

Sorry but I am married to an Iranian and I know that number 1 is correct. They do not only treat you as property, they treat you as robot under the cloak that they are "acting as head of the family". You cannot work, you cannot say words if they do not agree to it, you cannot even buy even your own necessities even if they are keeping much money in the bank. They restrict you in all ways they could - economically, psychologically and career wise. At the end of the day - whether you have saved them, feed them when they were unemployed, they evaluate you as a wife according to whether you left the house spotless of dust even if you had almost no rest at all trying to make ends work.
And yes - a lot of physical beating. And they make you think it is your fault. And who says my husband is uneducated? He is highly educated! Well traveled too. In fact, he is working in an international company.
Iranian husbands have a separate set of standards for their wife (that is why other people outside the family views them in a very positive way) NOT knowing how horrible they are to their wife.
Number 2 is also correct. They will even slap their girl who insist to study and do not give them money or support. They keep mouthing at her before going to school or after coming home from school, telling her all the home chores that she failed to do.
I stayed in Iran for 3 years. What I wrote here aremy personal observation.

Sorry to hear that maryam. It is because of their upbringing and culture many men may act this way. I find most Iranian people beautiful especially men but you are right, you need to be careful who you marry. Maybe not all Iranian men like this but when a people come from a culture where misogyny is prevalent, it does not hurt to be weary. One movie that came to mind was Not Without My Daughter based on true story. There have been many other cases were a mother's children are taken away to his country to live with his family because they do not approve of a mother's lifestyle being different.

I know this is an old post but I have to say that Iranians are losers, they think they are white, which they are not, they act like europeans and americans who they can never be.

Whats most annoying is those people who claims that most of iranians are against the regime. Its not true, some are against, especially those who live in facebook and twitter and just dream of having sex and drinking all day long. But how many dreams of that? Iran have 70 millions of citizens.

I agree that the regime isnt the best one in the world, but you guys dont deserve democracy, I have seen how you act when you come to europe. Its just despicable

Also for those idiots that says iranians have sold them selves to the arabs its the opposite.... You know nothing about Iran. Iran controls all of Syrias, Palestines and Lebanons politics. They own about 60% of all the investments in UAE. Iran is surrounded by pro-us anti-Iranian countries who dreams of destroying Iran, but they cant do anything about it. Thats what Iran is.

Also for you idiots who complain about the economics dont forget that Iran have been sanctioned for the bast 40 years. But still we do great in many things.

You guys make me sick. Its you who have sold your own country.

BTW Im not basiji or anything I dont care about Iran its just that you idiots dont appreciate anything at all. You even kicked out the Shah. Nothing is good enough for you.

iranians are the best in the world..at keeping their spines bowed. persians may have been a great nation, but that was hundreds of years ago. meanwhile, the arabs who invaded their country and slept with their wives and mothers before killing the men, have also imposed islam on persians. since then, whenever arabs say jump, poor iranians humbly ask: how high. pjam seems to be exactly that, an iranian whose father came from the depths of the meccan deserts. now, the arabian gulf is run by arabs, and iranians have lost their country to mahomed, and look where iran is now, the laughingstock of the universe. it is a good thing iran doesn't use that old flag with the lion on it. there's no lion left in iran, all i see are black and green sheep, bleating about how good life is in iran and how beautiful is to starve to death under islam, for mahdi and other foreign gods.
You know nothing about islam. Iran have influenced islam more than any other nation in the world. Even more than the arabs themselves.

1.All the hadith-books were written by iranian scholars.

2.All the sunni scholars like hanafi, maleki. hanbali shafaei etc who are the major branches of sunni islam, they all were students of an iranian scholar.

3.Shia islam is almost completely iranian.

Im not going to say anything else because the list is endless

I am American and only been with American males. I gave an Iranian man a chance and he was abusive controlling angry and lied about EVERYTHING. His brothers, mother, family, Iranian affiliates were equally pretentious and outrageously discriminatory. He forced me to drink scotch, take drugs, had affairs, and alienated me from everyone that mattered. He was a screaming alcoholic who hated Americans and my children.

I have to agree with Lisa. I am a Caucasian woman who dated a Persian man for the first time. Ugg. White women here's a warning: just don't do it. You may be charmed by him but the man I dated was selfish, impatient, controlling, overly attached to his mother, and subtly abusive to me in the form of critiscm and emotional neglect. All that aside, he was committing major fraud in his workplace bc he was lazy and irresponsible and trying to beat the system. This man had a history of using white women to his advantage. As a young FOB he married one for citizenship. After she left him he found another one who would stand in her place for the interviews. They lived together several years and once he became a doctor he dumped her and married a Persian woman who treated him like crap and stole all his money yet she had him by the balls. They divorced very bitterly and now he's screwed emotionally and financially. Unfortunately this is where I came in and took the brunt of his unhappiness. He basically was obsessed with his ex wife bc he couldn't control her. He did not know how to love a woman. He took his mother to a nudie show in Vegas. His mother got fed up with living with him and moved back to Iran.

Why the hell do you guys wear so much damn perfume all the time. You piss off everyone else around you especially since Iranians seem to dump the entire bottle on themselves instead of using just one spray.

This is a case where more definitely does not equal better.

Pjam2825. you are a shame to the iranians and Iran. Unaware of history of Iran, you show that you are a slave to arabs and islam. you trample on your identity, history, values and your ancestors who created and defended Iran against enemy like muslim and arabs/Tazis who destroyed our literature, religion, language and more. your are asleep kid. Iran got attacked by muslim arabs, they raped our women's, killed children and men. they took them as slaves to Medina. they forced islam into us, arabized much of our language, killed millions of Iranians (persians, kurds and more) and did lots of things for 200-300 years, and now you defend their religion in the name of this nasty Mohammed. your value is as much as and camel arab in the deserts of arabia.

pjam2825 is right. Iran is better off under the IRI than it was under the Shah.

BUT, Iran does have human rights violations and freedom of religious expression. The hope is not to completely separate Iran's religion from the state, but rather, to make Iran's religion more "open" and "accepting". Perhaps, Iranians could embrace their Sufi heritage moreso than Shiaa? If this is done, Iran could become stronger just like it was during the Safavid Empire.

This is why I don't want the West to influence Iran and mold it in its own image. The Iranian people would do better under something like the Safavid Empire, which was culturally rich and had good solidarity amongst its people, over something like an imposed, cold plutocratic Republic.
