Murder On A Global Scale

US to Expand Assassination Program to North Africa

By Joseph Kishore

(Contd.)

Criticisms of presidential assassinations of US citizens have been limited to tactical and procedural issues. Some members of Congress and commentators, taking their cue from the New York Times editorial page, are pushing for the setting up of a secret court to provide a pretense of judicial oversight and a pseudo-legal stamp of approval for state murder.

An article in the New York Times on Saturday (“Debating a Court to Vet Drone Strikes”) reports that “in response to broad dissatisfaction with the hidden bureaucracy directing lethal drone strikes, there is an interest in applying the model of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act court—created by Congress so that surveillance had to be justified to a federal judge—to the targeted killing of suspected terrorists, or at least of American suspects.”

Democratic Senator Diane Feinstein, chair of the intelligence committee, supported the proposal at the Brennan confirmation hearing. Brennan himself suggested that it was “worthy of discussion,” and former Defense Secretary Robert Gates has indicated that he supports the proposal as well.

Referring to several “legal scholars and terrorism experts,” the Times writes,“With the war in Afghanistan winding down, Al Qaeda fragmenting into hard-to-read offshoots and the 2001 terrorist attacks receding into the past, they said, it is time to consider how to forge a new, trustworthy and transparent system to govern lethal counterterrorism operations.”

The newspaper goes on to note that “with Al Qaeda’s core in Pakistan hugely diminished and Osama bin Laden dead” the targets of assassination are now “a mixed bag of midlevel militants and foot soldiers whose focus is often more on the Pakistani or Yemeni authorities than on the United States.” This is an inadvertent admission that the main target of drone assassinations is not Al Qaeda operatives, but rather anyone who seeks to fight US occupation of their country or repressive regimes that do the bidding of Washington.

The Times article also implicitly exposes the claim that a secret drone assassination court would lead to greater “transparency” and square the assassination program with constitutional norms. It notes that the model for such a new court, the existing FISA court, operates in complete secrecy and approves every surveillance request from the government. The newspaper writes:“In 2011, according to the most recent statistics, the court approved 1,745 orders for electronic surveillance or physical searches, rejecting none outright but altering 30.”

If it were established, any such court for assassination would not represent a “check” on the program, but rather a means of more securely embedding state-sanctioned killing in the institutions of the government.

Chapter 215

When the soldiers with Judas drew near to the place where Jesus was, Jesus heard the approach of many people, wherefore in fear he withdrew into the house. And the eleven were sleeping. Then God, seeing the danger of his servant, commanded Gabriel;, Michael;, Rafael;, and Uriel;, his ministers, to take Jesus out of the world. The holy angels came and took Jesus out by the window that looks toward the South;. They bare him and placed him in the third heaven in the company of angels blessing God for evermore.

Chapter 216

Judas entered impetuously before all into the chamber whence Jesus had been taken up. And the disciples were sleeping. Whereupon the wonderful God acted wonderfully, insomuch that Judas was so changed in speech and in face to be like Jesus that we believed him to be Jesus. And he, having awakened us, was seeking where the Master was. Whereupon we marvelled, and answered:'You, Lord, are our master; have you now forgotten us?'

And he, smiling, said:'Now are you foolish, that know not me to be Judas Iscariot!' And as he was saying this the soldiery entered, and laid their hands upon Judas, because he was in every way like to Jesus. We having heard Judas' saying, and seeing the multitude of soldiers, fled as beside ourselves. And John, who was wrapped in a linen cloth, awoke and fled, and when a soldier seized him by the linen cloth he left the linen cloth and fled naked. For God heard the prayer of Jesus, and saved the eleven from evil.

Actually , your reply is just the opposite of the truth. Islam is getting weaker every day. The more Islam tries to destroy Israel, the closer is the death of Islam. Seriously, you don't realize the power of Israel and how closely God is taking care of Israel. Every time we discuss this , you keep failing to realize how powerful Israel is and that it is protected by God. Allah is no God at all. He's NOBODY . Here's my best recommendation for you, MUQQIE : Just sit back and keep watching events unfold which illustrates my points here.

2.

ALL the Biblical prophesies have been fulfilled except for a few remaining prophesies that WILL be fulfilled in the future or near future. Haven't you learned anything here yet ?

You are not too bright !

1. If Islam was growing "weaker" by every day, there would not be that much hype in Media about Islam.

Who cares for "fallen enemy"….?

Every time you "boast" of how powerful Isreal it, I can see your "problem"… why would you keep on reminding how powerful it is?

I can see that it had not won any war since 1967 and was unable to "finish off" either Hizbollah or Hamas despite the "long rope" UNO and World Superpowers gave to it.

2. I know ALL the Biblical prophesies have been fulfilled even the one "That Jesus shall return on May 21, 2012"!!

You seem to forget the Yom Kippur War of 1973, right ?
The small battles with Hezbollah were not wars but police actions that th eIsraelis agreed to stop on their own.

Who said Jesus was to return on the date you provided here ? Only God knows when He will return. WE still have a few prophecies to fulfill before His glorious return near Jerusalem. Tou are absloutely foolish !

How America Kills

By Chris Hayes

February 10, 2013 "MSNBC" -- Over the last 17 months that we’ve been on air, we’ve talked quite a bit about the Obama administration’s secret program of targeted killing of suspected terrorists. A small number of those targeted and killed have been American citizens, while some unconfirmed number of those killed in Yemen and Pakistan and elsewhere have been innocent civilians: mothers, children, young and old men in the wrong place at the wrong time.

People in the administration have told reporters that they have implemented an extremely rigorous screening process inside the White House to decide who ends up on the list, that the president himself approaches his responsibility to administer the program with solemnity and care, and that the policy has been efficient and effective in decimating al-Qaeda and other affiliated terrorist groups. A senior U.S. official said as early as 2009,”The enemy is really, really struggling…These attacks have produced the broadest, deepest and most rapid reduction in al-Qaida senior leadership that we’ve seen in several years.”

But before any of the specifics of the program’s merits can be properly and fully debated, it has to be brought out from behind the veil of secrecy which now cloaks it. That process started this week when my colleague Michael Isikoff obtained a heretofore secret Department of Justice memo that outlines the administration’s legal arguments for why it believes it has the authority to use lethal force against ”a U.S. citizen who is a senior operational leader of al-Qa’ida or an associated force” if an “informed high-level official of the U.S. government has determined” it’s appropriate.

At Thursday’s confirmation hearings for his nomination to head up the CIA, White House counterterrorism adviser John Brennan, widely reported to be the chief architect of the kill list policy, faced a series of questions about the memo and the program it helps justify.

No topic that we discuss regularly on the show invites quite the level of backlash on social media as the kill list and drones. Given the constant and often disingenuous criticism and obstruction the president has faced I can understand why liberals, Democrats and others might view with some cynicism some of the outrage and indignation suddenly expressed by conservatives this week, much of which has been more focused on liberals’ hypocrisy rather than the underlying policy.

I had to laugh to myself when Rupert Murdoch tweeted the following this week:”How do liberals explain complaints about Guatemala with silence on drone killing, civilians and all, without arrests, trials, etc?” He meant, I think Guantanamo, but autocorrect gets the best of all of us from time to time.

But when us lefties here on Up have discussed and criticized the secret kill list program, many viewers who’ve responded online or through email accused me of being naive about the true nature of war, or going out of my way to find things to criticize about the president or stoking controversy where there is none.

01,. So you did not discuss religion with your Hindu friends, did you?
Did you not mention that your Hindu friends were saying, they have problems with Islam and Muslims? How then we could be "birds of the same feather"?
To me, you and them, both Islam haters, would be "birds of the same feathers"
02. "Predicting" death and downfall of Islam has been the "best pastime" of enemies of Islam since last 1400 years.
But each time they "wished and prayed" for its downfall, it grew stronger.
So we are really thankful to you people for again wishing and predicting and praying and planning for its destruction!!
You put YOUR wit and planning against the Wit and Planning of the Creator of this Universe?
I like YOUR courage!!
The Bible uses the terminology, "enemies of Israel" and it DOES use the word, Persia (which is Iran) when discussing the coming prophesied battle. This battle ushers in the Tribulation Period with ethe Antichrist. The Battle of Armageddon is the final battle where Jesus returns and defeats the combined forces against Israel and the Antichrist.

Israel Lobby in USA (Bliss or Bane for USA?)– By John J. Mearsheimer and S. M Walt- Part-17

Anti Semitism- The Great Silencer

No discussion of how the Lobby operates would be complete without examining one of its most powerful weapons: the charge of anti Semitism.

Anyone who criticizes Israeli actions or says that pro Israel groups have significant influence over U.S. Middle East policy . an influence that AIPAC celebrates, stands a good chance of getting labeled an anti Semite.

In fact, anyone who says that there is an Israel Lobby runs the risk of being charged with anti Semitism, even though the Israeli media themselves refer to America’s “Jewish Lobby.”

In effect, the Lobby boasts of its own power and then attacks anyone who calls attention to it. This tactic is very effective, because anti Semitism is loathsome and no responsible person wants to be accused of it.

Europeans have been more willing than Americans to criticize Israeli policy in recent years, which some attribute to a resurgence of anti Semitism in Europe. We are “getting to a point,” the U.S. Ambassador to the European Union said in early 2004,“where it is as bad as it was in the 1930s.”103

Measuring anti-;Semitism is a complicated matter, but the weight of evidence points in the opposite direction. For example, in the spring of 2004, when accusations of European anti Semitism filled the air in America, separate surveys of European public opinion conducted by the Anti Defamation League and the Pew Research Center for the People and the Press showed that it was actually declining.104

Consider France, which pro Israel forces often portray as the most anti-;Semitic state in Europe. A poll of French citizens in 2002 found that: 89 percent could envisage living with a Jew; 97 percent believe making anti-Semitic graffiti is a serious crime; 87 percent think attacks on French synagogues are scandalous; and 85 percent of practicing French Catholics reject the charge that Jews have too much influence in business and finance.105

It is unsurprising that the head of the French Jewish community declared in the summer of 2003 that “France is not more anti Semitic than America.”106

According to a recent article in Ha-aretz, the French police report that anti-Semitic incidents in France declined by almost 50 per cent in 2005; and this despite the fact that France has the largest Muslim population of any country in Europe.107

Finally, when a French Jew was brutally murdered last month by a Muslim gang, tens of thousands of French demonstrators poured into the streets to condemn anti Semitism. Moreover, President Jacques Chirac and Prime Minister Dominique de Villepin both attended the victim’s memorial service in a public show of solidarity with French Jewry.108
