Between Russia, China, and Iran, Syria seems to have a lot of benefactors!

Mother Russia has huge amounts of cash and weapons, and they will give Assad all that he will ever need to obliterate this rebellion!

Didn't you "read" that Russia has a naval base in Syria, its only port on the Mediterranean Sea? Or that Russia has blocked every UN resolution aimed at removing Assad? The Syrian regime means a lot more to Russia than just a mere buyer of weapons.

Your base in Tartus is not even capable of hosting any of the Russian Navy's current major warships.
Only small vessels it has 100 meter long floating piers.
It's nothing special despite all your pumping.

Just like Guantanamo base in Cuba, it is perfectly capable of storing short range missiles with nuclear warheads. Neither the US or Russia will give those bases up.

That base is more of a parking lot that the Russian boys can take a small boat ride to shore and sit in lawn chairs to get a sun tan and drink vodka.

These guys make such a big deal about this port but in reality it is semi-useless because none of the major sea vessels can even come into port, it is a souvinor of the old USSR and the little tug boats they had for the navy warships and could service them and refuel them, now the fuel is parked out in the ocean and ships must refuel on the water. But it does work as a helicopter pad to come ashore, they should put a bar there and picnic tables for serving vodka to the boys.

If it's so "useless" why would the Russians even care about it? It's about as "useless" to the Russians as Guantanamo base is the the US.
