There is like 4 or 5 million of them on the island they were on, you kill a few and the millions left continue to breed. How this is "mocking" UK laws? Doesn't make any sense either as it didn't happen in the UK and they didn't condemn it, all they said was it tasted good, which it properly does. "Oh my, channel 4 just aired Die Hard, this is clearly mocking UK gun laws....." no.
Thank god channel 4 is going to ignore complaints that are going to be made so we can see more interesting culture from around the world.
now where can I find a cheap ticket to Iceland...
If You were interested in visitnig iceland there is a great big puffin feast in Vestmannaeyjar next weekend.
Pretty short notice but next year anyone that is interested should come over.

I have always tried to like Ramsey, however it is now plainly obvious he is a repulsive pratt.

It's pathetic really, eating creatures just because they taste good. Mankind is supposed to be maturing into respect for the planet and it's inhabitants. Traditional Chinese medicine has pushed many species to the edge of extinction that were once abundant.
How about Ramsey cooking up a delicious Minke Whale or a scrumptious African bush meat Chimp hand? All international traditional dishes. Why stick to just Puffin? C'mon push out those boundaries!!! Powdered Rhino horn nibbles? Seal cub sandwiches? Peregrin pate? It's all puff(in)ed up machismo which a lot of insecure people enjoy to make themselves feel a little more powerful momentarily. The rats and insects will have the last laugh on us in the end.
Another thing that is not illigal eating in iceland Seal cub sandwiches. I have never tryed seals and i am told that they actually taste pretty bad and their meat is coal black but i have tasted i think it called in english a Minke Whale and they really are delicious.

God people are stupid. Puffins are not endangered. They are simply protected in Britain.

Look guys, if god didn't want us to eat puffins, he wouldn't have made them out of delicious puffin meat. End of story.

Out of touch city slickers don't have the faintest idea of how their lifestyle affects the planet and get caught up with symbolic cute-n-fluffy issues. If only more people had the balls to fully understand where their food came from. I'm sorry if Gordon's reality check has confronted some people's double standards. I'd chow down on Puffin Muffins with him any time.

I agree and i've also heard that Puffins don't taste very nice anyway so there's a reason why we eat chickens instead.
So it's all right to artificially breed chickens for our consumption but it's not OK to catch a couple of wild birds which have lived a free life in the name of education...?

Agreed, a lot of people seem quite out of touch with reality. Puffins are a very abundand species in the North Atlantic and not endangered at all. For those who think what Gordon did was cruel...well check out this video from a chicken slaughterhouse:

How many of you eat chicken regularly? A puffin enjoys a free life until it's caught by a hunter and it's killed instantly by breaking it's neck.

When I was in Iceland in the late 70's, they were on the endangered list and servicemen were cautioned about taking souvenirs back to the US. I would bet they are as tasty as quail and since they aren't killed with a shotgun, they should be better eating.

I liked watching the Andrew Zimmern episode on eating puffins and how they are netted.

I have many great memories of being in Iceland. I'd love a pilsir (sp?) right now! Hello Asa... Remember me?

What's your problem, not everyone in Iceland has tasted a puffin and judging a country by a few people really shows what kind of a person you really are. And just because we have better genes than you, that don’t mean you have to insult us by saying that we are all a bunch of inbreeds.

And by the way puffins aren't near extinction; they are categorized as least concern like many species that are probably cooked in your country.

There are about 8-10 million in Iceland alone, that's more than are of people here, and there are people who watch how many are hunted so that they won't disappear.

Gordon Ramsey is an idiot no style, NO he had no right to eat that puffins heart, just because that is the way and a way of hunting in Iceland, his excuse was to prove yourself a man in Iceland that is why he did it, if he was a man he would not of done it, different cultures have there own way like it or not, but he did not have to do this and shame on channel 4 for the broadcast NO i did not watch it i only ever watched 2 of his programs i think him a foul excuse for a man, 2 was enough to watch, i read about it Shame on the well hes is not a man and shame on TV for showing it, i can think of many traditions and ways of people around the world that they would not show, in some countries if a woman looks at another man they are still beaten or stoned would TV show this live as a reality point i jut because does not mean have to do the same yes Shame on you Gordon Ramsey you are not a man at all just an idiot.
