There is a reason why we are trying to have 'white' skin but it isn't because we want to look like a different race. It is because having darker skin shows that we have been labouring hard outside so the sun makes your skin seem darker where as if you have 'white' skin it shows that you don't have to work hard and that you work in the city.
Even if many of us do try to have 'white' skin, why do many naturally 'white' skin people try to have 'brown' skin by using fake tan?

Woah, You are being hypercritical here, You've really got the wrong end of the map here, I think you interpreted in a different way and I feel that I needed to defend her here. What Jessica said was that the Chinese do not neccesary wanted to look Caucasian. The reason for wanting white skin is the way to show that they are not farmers nor out door labourer. Just like the white people wanted to look brown, not because they like brown people is just they wanted to show people that they can afford to have holidays abroad. That's all!

It's not only the chinese people!!! In my country, where there are mostly indians, muslims and creole, they all like white skin... and not only this, they dye their hair blond too!

I dont think nobody want to have white skin or black skin as a look. Its the culture influence, or some kind of advantage that you can get if you have a different skin colour. Like Michael Jackson, I dont think he likes to be white, but in the States back in the days, white people have been treated better that the black, asian try to be white, its the same thing, In china or hong kong, white people have more respect than the yellow. I've tried it before, when I file a complaint in english, I will get a reply from a manager in two day on my cell phone, If Im using chinese, it will takes fukin 3 months, and I will only got a reply via email, and sayin they just got my message. THats WHY!?

Okay pplzz....Im a Pakistani with fare skin, and its just that some people think having light skin makes you look more prettier, im the lightest in my family, but u dont see me going on like 'oh im ligh your not so shame!'.....ifour dark skinned....so what?!....you can still look beautiful and be proud of the way god made you, why change for false reasons, its bullshit! look at ark bollywood actresses or black people.(Bipasha Basu, Beyonce Knowles, Kajol, Naomi Cambell) they are all beautiful women!! soo be proud of the way you look!!
