The rest of the world pays homage to Haiti. The only people that twist historical facts are Trujillo balaguer educated Dominicans.
Please forgive those that are victims of Willie lynch doctrine.

T-Reborn,

First of all, YES HAITI DID BEAT NOT ONLY FRANCE BUT ALSO SPAIN!

Secondly, Congratulations for having an ugly free population in the DR! The Spanish studs did a wonderful job there.

Now that acknowledgment is over, I have a few questions for you along with few suggestions.

Are you a comedian or a professional hater?

Are you planning to rewrite history from your ignorant point of view? You should, it's guaranteed to have every historian on earth in stitches.

What are you doing in Brooklyn NY?

Shouldn't you be in the DR with your beautiful women, your trees, your growing economy, your flourishing tourism, your modern infrastructure and stirring at your great future. By the way, your list is incomplete, you forgot to mention that you also have the best prostitutes. In fact, the DR ranks number four in the world for the amount of whores that your people supplies at home and abroad including Haiti.

Perhaps you should go to Spain and tell them about your great achievements. Over there Dominicans are treated worse than dogs just like in the US really, but you already knew that as you are feeling the heat every moment of your miserable, pathetic life in Brooklyn. Maybe that's the reason behind your grand delusion of superiority over Haitians. I hope you are feeling a bit better after venting your frustration with life on an entire nation. Thanks to Haiti, you are not wearing your Spanish shackles right now.

STOP LIVING IN DENIAL! INGRATE!

Frankly, you are an embarrassment to your country and the entire human race, just shut your ugly trap up.

Listen buddy, Haiti didn't exist in 1492, first of all... You owe your freedom to YELLOW FEVER... The french lost 15,000 men to it in the first two months of the expedition; thats more than half the foot soldiers sent there.... The french didn't try again because they fear dying of YELLOW FEVER not at the hands of the Haitians... Also since you were so hot and brave, how come you lost to the Domincan Peasant who fought with rock and machete's???
Youtube the Dominican war of independance. We were outnumbered and we still beat the crap out of them. We won virtually every single battle. There was even one battle, the Tortugero where 3 Dominican ships sacked 6 haitian ships. During Haitis liberation france was going through a civil war. No way Haiti would have beaten France in a fair war.

Haitians outnumbered Dominicans peasents 10-1 and Dominicans peasents slaughtered them

Im willing to bet you had silent help. Remember Haiti was giving weapons to fight slavery/colonialism. Remember boyer severed ties with the catholic church.
Remember divide and conquer. Everyone knows when someone is mixed in the Caribbean they romanticize their whiteness.
Its rape babies like you that set black people back as a whole.
Its zebras like you that would rat the other slaves who were going to revolt.
You suffer from Willie lynch syndrome.

And youngrubirosa the US can slaughter you Dominicans like a mosca fly on the wall!!! Shoot, Oklahomans alone can slaughter your entire country in about 3 days. No major weapons like ballistic missiles, etc. The record still stands..... The Haitians controlled the DR for 22 years. WoW!!! What a long time to learn their weaknesses and take back what was already yours. Also, stupid, Boyer made the mistake of dividing his forces by taking over the eastern side of Hispanola. He did it because he could not trust his greedy little back-stabbers to the east who were willing to sell their souls for a peso. Three years after taking over the DR, France realizing the division of Boyer's forces, pounced on Haiti..leading to the indemnity of 1825. Pay or get slaughtered. To pay the indemnity Boyer created a system of ruralism, forcing many young men out into the country-sides to farm. More than 80% of his forces were re-assigned to farming duties to raise the monies demanded by France + interest at 15%+ 50% import discount on duty for all French merchandise. With little to no forces left, it is no wonder the DR was able to take back their country. Study your history dumb aZZ before coming on this thread.

Don't discount the power of the catholic church behind the scenes. Poor illiterate peasants are easily manipulated.
Realize once he started to dismantle the influence of the church this could have led to the rest of Latin America following suite just like their fight against colonialisms.

we already fought Americans and we WON!
A Difficult Occupation:

The US military occupied the Dominican Republic for eight years. The Dominicans never warmed to the occupying force, instead resenting the high-handed intruders. Although all-out attacks and resistance stopped, isolated ambushes of American soldiers were frequent. The Dominicans also organized themselves politically: they created the Unión Nacional Dominicana,(Dominican National Union) whose purpose was to drum up support in other parts of Latin America for the Dominicans and convince the Americans to withdraw. Prominent Dominicans generally refused to co-operate with the Americans, as their countrymen saw it as treason.
The US Withdrawal:

With the occupation very unpopular both in the Dominican Republic and at home in the USA, President Warren Harding decided to get the troops out. The USA and the Dominican Republic agreed on a plan for an orderly withdrawal which guaranteed that customs duties would still be used to pay off long-standing debts. Starting in 1922, the US military began gradually moving out of the Dominican Republic. Elections were held and in July of 1924 a new government took over the country. The last US marines left the Dominican Republic on September 18, 1924.

Youtube isn't the best link to use. I've tried to look up about the above war but cannot find any strong information on it. But I did read that the Dominicans would cut the supply lines(for the Haitians) and retreat to the mountains where they could shoot the Haitians easily.
