Hi
We are looking into the possibilities for going to Haiti to kitesurf. I have seen beautiful pictures of Haiti and it has been tempting us for years... We have both been to DR several times, and the hatians there are some of the nicest people we have ever met. We are proffessional kitesurfers and will be making a travelstory for kitemagazines/filming while we go there.
The only questions is,with all the political turmoil, is it safe? Did anyone here windsurf/kitesurf in Haiti?
Thank you in advance,
Linn

Hi guys

I'm working in Ha´ti and will be there for at least another year and a half. I have been kitesurfing for a couple of years and took my kites with me. I found one awesom spot in mole saint nicolas and another one near cap Ha´tien in Bor de Mer de Limonade. I've tested those two spots a couple of times. If you are still planning on coming here i would love to show you around. I have an extra bed in cap Ha´tien for the travellers.
Ha´ti is such a wonderfull place that is just waiting to be discovered. It is safe, no problems. Don't beleive everything the newspapers say.
hope you are still planing on discovering Ha´ti's kitesurf spots.

Hi Quentin,

I did windsurf in the past and I will be really interesting to restart it. I work in Cap Haitien too, so maybe we could meet us to speak about.

Here is my email adress: jblamure@netcourrier.com

Thanks in advance,

Hello as a native of the Island, I can tell you that Haiti is a very beautiful country dispite the pictures they portrait of us in Haiti. The Haitians will help anyone in need. we are very friendly and hospitable. I am not saying not to be cautious, but it is very safe for vactions. It is great for sky surfing due the place having a lot of mountains.

Hi Quentin,

Are you still in Haiti? I will be working in PAP until november and I just bought a kite in DR but I can't transport a board right now. Cap Haitien is a bit far for me as well as Mole Saint Nicolas. But I have heard Jacmel is also a good spot, what do you think? Have you kite there? Also do you think I could lend/rent a board from anyone in Haiti?
Maybe we get the chance to meet up for a kite trip.

Cheers

Hi Co. I am living in LÚogane I have a kite and a board with me.You could come to borrow my board if you need. I have been kiting once in Port Ó Piment , which is after Port Salut. Another good spot seams to be GelÚ, just after Les Cayes. I don't know about Jacmel. You can surf there, but for kiting, I am not sure.
Let me know.
See ya

Is anyone still Kiting un Haiti? I am living in PAP and travel to the North route beaches each weekend and the wind is always blowing great! Good wrap beaches with onshore winds...White caps every after noon. I am a beginner and have my Kite but no board. I have a few SUP's with me and want to start kiting. I need a partner. I can run to DR to get a board. Is anyone out there?

Hi guys

best spot in haiti so far for me is in m˘le saint nicolas near the wind canal, check the local possibility of sleeping and eating here: http://www.boukanguinguette.com/ i have been there 5 times, always a pleasure and lots of kitting. it is more or less secure but for confirmed kiters only. somebody is there to put the kite up and down and there is possibility of rescue.

if you are not afraid you can always go to "bord de mer de limonade" near limonade, but you have to know that in case of a problem, nobody will rescue you...

keep it safe and enjoy
