Some of you people mainly the oppositions expect the President to provide food on your tables, the day that happens then you would consider Guyana a developing nation. If that's the case then you should have told Hoyte or Burhnam that!!!

Many of Africans in the past were protecting against the PNC party to give up power to someone else, the only party that fit the requirements that the people wanted were the PPP and today they have provided all the needs and wants of the people...

Its the new generation that knows nothing about the past of Guyana that are pushing the PNC back in power but we all know that this would never be again...

Come on Observer, there was no starvation in Burnham time. Siddiki was right, couple of items were banned and people improvised by substituting, for example, yams for potatoes, and you know what the yams in the curry tasted better than the potatoes. Many people bacame rich, especially Indians, by planting eschallot for onions, etc.The only problem was the flour for bread. People know how to survive

Yes there was starvation in the PNC era, many were malnourished and were suffering for a meal a day.
In the past protesting if you observe the signs, they were all of "the PNC starving our children" and they were all blacks!

kakahole observer the blacks suffered morethan indians under burnam time . indians planted and the majority lived in countryside , . they were almost self sufficient . blacks lived mostly in the city/towns and were dependent on indians to sell in the market .they had govt jobs but indians had their own house and land .coolie people had lots of money to afford to get drunk and full them rum shops . ask any cane cutter , they can afford to drink belly full.plus indians became millionaires selling banned items .they bribed police and pnc and govt officials

Many Indians in Burbice and in Georgetown made alot of money when the PNC was in power. They smuggled goods from Suriname. They took gold out of the country and sold it to jews in New York for a profit. Many Indians suffered but alot of Indians made alot of money. Some of those Indians like the Beharrys were very close to Burnham and they made alot of money which they invested in the New York stock market and they made more money.

So if Burhnam was such a good leader how come he allowed the Indians to smuggle goods from Suriname???

another story.there was plenty of rice on the world market and prices was low .so indians bribed pnc big boys and officials to tell burnam to ban wheat flour and use rice flour instead .burnam went ahead with it .so the farmers rice prices was saved . at the same time the smart indians knew the people cant do without wheat flour . so they smuggled it and made tons of profit .they was doing contraband with potatoes and sardines before so they knew how much they can make . so they was buying up all foreign currency to trade with it . thats why the blackmarket rate was so high for US $$ . burnam and his bank couldnt get the US $$. so money was ruling guyana . burnam couldnt even stop his pnc people from illegal business .poor burnam couldnt shyt . indians outsmarted him once again .they put him up and still run the country .

Daily Horoscope for December 12

Sagittarius

You're much more voluble and articulate today, so you might want to have another go at telling someone what's bugging you at the moment. However, don't get so carried away that you end up dominating the conversation, especially if it's obvious that this person also has things that they need to talk about. Give them a chance to have their say.
