..... The current problems came along over many years, and their solution is going to be slow and very painful. Habits are difficult to change, and politicians are mainly concerned about not losing their jobs.
..... Firms will hire more people only if they will expect more buying of their goods and/or services.
..... More buying is unlikely if taxes will be raised
..... Taxes must be raised in order for governments to be able to repay the debts.
..... During elections voters are most likely to vote into power those who promise LOWER!!! taxes and all sorts of impossible, expensive goodies that they don't want to pay for. Can't solve problems that way! And unemployment therefore will probably get worse, not better!
