I really liked some of the comments and disliked some of them. I am Bulgarian and I like all peoples. We are all God's children. And of course Greece and Rome are the most ancient Europeans. Bulgarians are mixed Greeks, Slavs, and Bulgars. They founded a country in the 7th century and took a lot from the Greeks, just like all European countries by the way. All modern European states are in some way influenced by Greece and Rome and most of all by Christianity. There is good and bad in any country and people. I'd choose to focus on the good, especially if I were a tourist. Germans for example had Hitler, but had also Martin Luther, and the first printing press. The Jews had Caiaphas and Barabbas, but also had Jesus, the bestest and most sterling example of all goodness.
You will really count Bulgaria to a modern European country? Ridiculous!

Now let me tell you something, Europe had Kings but never Tsars.
Those who call themselves Tsars come from the Asian cultures.
It is not well known, but Tzar may come from Caesar – a title received by Tervel in 705 from the East Rome Emperor. The first one that used it is tzar Simeon 893-927. The tile used in Bulgaria in the beginning was khan, tzar is closer to emperor. Titles king, knyaz and khan are equivalent to some extent, but used in different countries. King is in English, knyaz is Slavonic. Denmark has a konge but it is king actually. If your knowledge is based upon sources only from former Yugoslavia, it is good to check another.

Yes It comes from Caesar, but "TSAR" it is used only by emperors and people of Asia. NEVER by Europeans.

You check your sources one more time and try to learn history from books, not wikipedia.

A little bit earlier, actually - the first Slavonic state is established in Nitra in 632, migration period aprox. the 5th century. It is about slavonic and many other ethic groups in Europe. I cannot see the connection between migration and establishment of a state.
Please, give me an example for a Tsar from Asia.

Dear Blogger from Prishtina,
Let me summarize:
"Bulgaria the Oldest European country? haha Balgarsko Tsarstvo leaded by TSARS." You got the answer – it is San Marino, Bulgaria is one of the oldest STATE in Europe. What is so funny – I respect all the countries – also these older than a weekend.
"Now let me tell you something, Europe had Kings but never Tsars." Wrong statement – bad knowledge of history. Russian dynasty Romanov – it is European and all the rest tsars! Never a tsar in Europe?!
"Yes It comes from Caesar, but "TSAR" it is used only by emperors and people of Asia. NEVER by Europeans." Wrong statement again, but I do not expect more from you…
"You might wanna know that Slavs migrated in Europe after the 7th century.Europe is much older than that." "5th century is Also very late in European history." 7th of 5th – last offer? One day later Slavs came 2 centuries earlier.
"You check your sources one more time and try to learn history from books, not wikipedia." Do you still pretend that you have ever read a book?
"Those who call themselves Tsars come from the Asian cultures." Please give me one example – 1.how to comment Russian and Bulgariona tsars with capital Moscow and Tarnovo; 2.just name a couple of tsars from Asia.

The most important and most successful race in Europe! Envy must be earned Greek immigrant! We are superior to you in every respect. Truth hurts my worthless Greek namby-pamby.

Greeks are standing for: Cheating, fooling, stupidity, layziness, inhability, helplessness, indignity, arrogance, corruption, sordidness etc. That's why your rotten country is on a level of a third world country. To cheat others over decades is never the key for success!

I hope the Turks will take over one day the shit-pile called Greece.

Daily Horoscope for May 21

Virgo

It's a rather low-key day with a few disappointments to cope with along the way. If you were looking forward to a social event, such as meeting up with friends, it may fail to live up to your expectations. It might even be delayed or postponed through no fault of your own. There could also be problems about how much something is going to cost, forcing you to scale down your plans to make them more affordable.
