Your cite from the wiki is an excellent example why one should not trust everything written there.
Russia took only responsibilities
1. for monetary debts of USSR because all the republics refused to pay
2. and responsibilities for all military treaties becuase it has the nuke.
NOTHING else from the USSR obligations were taken.
Any crimes committed in the USSR must be trialled personally but not the FR state as a hole because Russia had not existed from 1917 to 1992 when it got freedom from the USSR's multinational ruling.
That stance is only possible if Russian institutions emerged from a scratch. They didn't. FSB is a legal successor to the KGB. KGB crimes have never been investigated properly.

In fact, soviet crimes in general are not satisfactorily investigated in RF at present.

The medallion of Estonian presidency from 1940 is still in Kremlin. Archeological assets from the University of Tartu are still in Russia (Voronezh). Thiefs are thiefs no matter if they call themselves soviets or RF.

Present-day Russia is continuing to occupy Bessarabia/Moldova. Present-day Russia has not given back the lands that soviets occupied - Kuriil, Karelia, Seto, etc.

Why “Operation: Last Chance” Is Being Launched in the Baltics?

There are numerous reasons why the Baltics were chosen as the initial place to implement “Operation: Last Chance.” While several relate to the specific nature of the events of the Holocaust in Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia, others are a product of practical and technical considerations. The most important are the following: 1. These countries had the highest victimology rate in Europe during the Holocaust. Not only were the local Jewish communities almost completely annihilated but many thousands of Jews from other countries (Germany, Austria, Czechoslovakia, Hungary and France) were deported to the Baltics and murdered in Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia.
2. The extremely large number of local collaborators who actively participated in the mass murder of the local Jewish communities and Jews deported to these countries
3. The fact that local police units from each of the Baltic countries were sent abroad, where they actively participated in the mass murder of Jews (especially in Belarus and Poland.)
4. Following the occupation of the Baltics by the Soviet Union in 1944, many Nazi war criminals were prosecuted and convicted by the Soviet authorities. These individuals can testify regarding crimes committed during the Holocaust that they personally witnessed without fear of prosecution
5. The fact that there has not been a single prosecution of a local Nazi war criminal – in which the defendant was healthy enough to attend the trial and bear punishment if convicted – in any of the three Baltic countries makes the efforts to bring the guilty to justice of unique significance for Lithuanian, Latvian, and Estonian society.

Because the current RF is the official successor of the country which organized the famine?
The Soviets were above the Russian, Ukrainian, Belarussian and Estonian governments. How is Russia more responsible than the rest?

Do you think it was a democracy and the Russian majority ruled?

LOL ..Everything went through the Kremlin. Anyone who thinks differen't apparently has little or no knowledge of the Soviet Union. The US was totally domintated by Russia...sans the mandatory Russian language classes in all SU country's and the Russification process of said country's. I thought this was common knowledge for everyone on here.

Everything went through the Soviet leadership (Gorbachev), when he was in charge and Yeltsin head of the Russian SSR were they the same entity? Of course not. The Russian SSR was a layer below just like the Belarussian SSR.
When Gorbachev fell the different republics had their seperate governments.
The Russian SSR was not in charge of what happened in Minsk. Before Gorbachev fell the Soviets (in Moskva) were but never Russia.

Well, then Russia should give away ALL archives concerning soviet legacy - including all KGB archives - so that the world (international courts) could organize another Nurenburg for soviet communists. After all, judging communists should not harm Russia if Russia is not a successor of the soviet regime, right?

No problem - there have been no nazi marches in Estonia.

Sorry, you have the wrong address. Russia has done more gravedigging of soviet WWII gaves than Eastern Europe combined. And they (Russia) are not polite in their dealings either - bulldozer will do and the bones will be left open for the sun and rain.

Estonians had an archaelogical digging within a large tent, a priest was summoned as well, the bones were reburied.

They march along your streets each year in their SS uniform.

You lie.
