I don't remember the name of the Kaserne I was at. It was directly across from E Tony's Pizza on Lamboy Strasse.
Down the street was the Golden Nugget, managed by Deiter, and my favorite bar girls; Eva and Gabby. Both of the girls were absolute sweethearts, who had enough spunk to put up with drunken GI's, and still be sweet little darlings you couldn't help but adore.
Tony's was managed by Bruno, and his second in command was Marcello. Marcello was a bit stout, and we used to jokingly call him Marshmallow. He would come right back at us with friendly insults of his own, such as; "There are many good places down the street. Why do you have to come here?"
We had a great rapport with all the bar owners on Lamboy Strasse, and we could run bar tabs on credit with them ahead of paydays. These were all great people who helped us to feel at home away from home. They became dear friends during my time in Germany, and I miss them all.
The post u are talking about across from tonys was the Francois (francewa) Kaserne! i lived right behind lamboy strasse i was born in hanau 1975 and lived on lamboy till 1991 then we moved to Frankfurt until 1996 than came back to hanau.

Anyone remember Victorio's, across the street
from Tony's?

Usually I was at Tony's, E Tony's or Victorio's.
Except Fri-Sat nights at the Hanau Rod and Gun.

Pioneer Kaserne 1976-78.

Yeah I remember it but I didn't go there very often. I don't think it was there long. I think it turned into an insurance agency. but I do remember it. I remember going out the back door for some reason. Maybe the bathrooms were at the back. Can't remember.

I practically lived at the Rod n Gun Club from 79 to 87. I went a few times after that but the crowd was different. When I hung out there Tiny was the bouncer and there was an asian guy tending bar along with some girls.

I now live in Utah, but i was from Colorado, I was in the 26 S@S company i requested to move to another company because my Sgt was a creep and he wouldn't leave me alone kept asking me out and i tuned him down am0ng other things. I requested To my Lt. out of there and went to the 85th maintence Company where I finished my tour of duty Sept 1976(75-1976) It was fun I lived on top of the Canteen a bar about 12 Wax's lived their the music was loud and we always went down ad watched the bands from England I was friends with Silver City. The bad time besides my first Sgt was the time my friend Cindy from loveland Colo. was pulling CQ and she asked me if i could pull it for her for a few hours so she could go on a date with her new husband a soilder from pioneer Kasern she was Murdered in our place while on CQ It was about 3am and i was first on the scene, they got the guy he was a Medic.. Crazy nightmares.... But while i was in Hanau, I travel all over with my girl froiend Maria Ferra from Texas she had a volks wagon bug and she would drive it 80 plus miles on that autobaun.... Crazy. I ws friends with many of the MPs right across the I think it was Edan pub(Bar) we called it the Canteen... they had the best German food. Bill Wren and David were MPs stationed there and my friends. I was in Race relations and traveled with Us Military and German civilians and saw many places in hanau. I wish would love to know what happened to some of my friens Larry Mau Murphy he was my Kung fu instructor on the base. and Debbie Spenser from Texas she married and English guy who i knew then left him went back to Texas we contacted each other for a yr. and Jesse Masquada he is married in Northern Cali. When i heard that Pioneer Kasern closed down which was just recent i was saddened. I would have loved to go back there and visit. I worked with Frell Zellar he was a German civilian he taught me lots of German. The october fest in was crazy, Wine fest, Burger fest and Faushing was a party and a Half i would go dancing in Frankfurt hat a club and just had so much fun. Sad that they closed the Pioneer Kasern in Hanau Germany. I left as a SpE-4.
