<quoted text>I know what you mean. I can tell on youtube how much it has changed. My name is Paul Roache I was there from 1976-1978. It was a wonderful time to be anywhere.Im sorry its gone. I wouls still like to visit Tonys Pizza. I wonder if Bruno is still there.@ Tonys when I first got to Germany the only american song on the Juke box was...Im Not in Love. By 10cc. Whenever I hear that song I think of Hanau.
Hi Paul. I was stationed at Pioneer from 72-76. As far as Bruno is doing, I went back with my wife Eneida (78) and found out Bruno had opened his own place not far from Tony's. We went to his place and he treated us to a wonderful dinner. I asked him how he did it.."he said 18 hours day and I saved ever penny"...Good guy and a very nice restaurant...miss those days....

I was in the 81st Maint Co. from 1980-1984, were I was in the service section working on Grossauheim. What an experience, worked 24hrs striaght trying to repair and paint those vechiles at the end of the month. But when we did get time off we partyed hard and I loved fixing and painting my fellow soldiers cars in the area. Even painted the silver foxes car. The unity in that company was like no other I was in during my 21 yrs in the military. Oh Ricky the Modernare was the name of the club on Fliegerhorst, and also the Beacon Warrant Officer club was there.

Tony's is gone. He retired. The Boat is still there but with no more american's it is about to close. Mostly there is car dealers around the back gate now. I think that Bruno's turned into the Boat when he bought his new place.

I was there from 96-98. Best time of my life. Its sad that I won't be able to show my wife and kids around Pioneer. One thing I think is funny is that no matter what year you were in Hanau there was some guy nicknamed "Cowboy" at the Rod and Gun club. We had one too that got there in 96 with me.

I found this site in a search for as many people who were stationed on pioneer and got the flu shots that they lined us up for in the fall of 72. If I am right and you recieved this injection you will know why I am looking.
I am looking for anyone who has information on those in the HHD, 8th Maint. Bn, Grossauheim Kaserne from 1970-71. Since your time period was close, do you know anyone from this unit?
