The three-toed sloth is the slowest mammal in the world The sloth's popular image as a lazy creature that sleeps for most of the day has been called into question.

I live in captivity - I'm retired, have most of my needs provided for me, live in a 900 Sq ft "cage" and sleep as much as my neighbors and housemates will allow by NOT reving up their hot rod or playing their sterio too loud. So, what's different?
You notice, however, that this "study" watched ONLY three FEMALES. Now, if they had put three MALES into the study - and there were six packs of beer and a TV handy, I'll bet they'd have found something completely different. Seriously, three animals in the same general area constititutes a "study" - GIVE ME A BREAK! I before E except after C etc. ect.- doesn't look like enough of a trend to establish a rule (sorry, George Carlin, I coldn't resist.) |
