You don't have to tell us where you are now, Brenden. Rest in peace, young man.

To the family of Brenden, thank you for your sacrifice and for his service. I too have a 20 year old son in the Army...my heart breaks everytime I hear of a solider loosing their life. He is in the arms of our Lord now-you will see him again someday.

Thank God for young men like Brendon. You have given your all to protect what freedom we have. There will be some who don't understand just what sacrifices we make in the military and there are those of us who rise up and fight for what we believe in. Thank you again Brendon for you laoyalty and sacrifice. My prayers go out to the family and I want to thank you for having such a loving and dedicated young man. He will be missed but it truly and American Hero.

Something doesn't fit, Brenden was into such important "Special Ops" after less than 2 years in the military? Basic / AIT / All the special operations training /then to Iraq- all in such a very short time? There must be something the Army isn't telling us about Brenden Teetsell! Rest in Peace bro, you are truely incredible!

his lies were endless, the stories only cover the surface. he lied to people he "loved"

he was one sick kid who fooled everybody into believing he has happy, healthy, and a lovely person

i still believe that he was all of those things deep inside, but had a very horrible illness who ruined a lot of people's faith and trust in humanity

Given the entire situation, my heart goes out to his mother... I went to school with Brenden and also knew his sister...and this isn't surprising, given the stories he started telling at a very young age... mostly about his health and achievements he said he'd made (really anything to receive sympathy or praise). Looks like things don't change... but it's still very sad. Seems like he's the least likely to be victim in this situation... i really feel that his mother and the rest of his community are the victims given what was said to them.

But I agreed with William... I haven't seen him since High School, but after reading this:
http://www.appeal-democrat.com/news/dies_6028...

it just didn't sit right if you know anyone in the military especially those who actually have special clearances... and knowing how the boy has always been.

This was posted yesterday clearing some of it up:

http://www.appeal-democrat.com/news/teetsell_...

Wanting to be loved is normal... but lying to do it is not. I have zero sympathy for someone who kills them selves out of guilt leaving his family and community to feel the shame that should be completely his own.

Again... to his mother... I am SO sorry that you have had to deal with this horrible incident... and i believe that in NO way does it reflect upon you... you can't controll either of your children... please be strong, this will pass.
We will miss you

This is in reply to the last few comments...Don't say that your heart go's out the Brenden's mother when you don't even know her....especially after putting her son down. I find it very offensive because I have known his mother for many years and the insensitiveness that you people have is pathetic. What if it was your mother, would you wont her to read this? Don't judge a person if you don't truly know them. Regardless to what is true and what is not, a beautiful person has left us.....LET HIM REST IN PEACE!!
moving forward

I went to AIT with Brenden. He was always telling a story. One of our DS's mothers had died and on a card he had written a derogatory message and after confronted about the message he then replied that his family owned and ran a funeral home, embalbing them, and the whole 9yrds. Brenden also lied numerous times about his age for our physical training tests so the standards would be easier to meet. Now dont get me wrong, this aint a comment to bash on brenden, he was a great kid who was there to help you when you asked him, but the fact of the matter is everything that came outta his mouth 95% of the time was a lie. When he got caught up in a lie in AIT he staightened up a lil bit for bout a day or two then went right back to his normal routine of lying to see wat he could get away with.
all in all yea i miss hangin out wit da kid & i feel bad for the parents, but im not gonna feel sorry for brenden. He dug himself a hole deep enough he couldnt ever get out of.

don't be mad at us... we all have the right to feel hurt. no, i DON'T know his mother, but i DID know Brenden and i have my right to speak what i feel about the situation. as upset as she's going to be, she needs to know the truth as well. it's not yous or anyone else job to monitor what ppl are saying and how they feel about a situation. i have my right to be angry at a boy who lied to his mother and community and then leaving THEM with the guilt... i'm not mad @ u for defending your friend, but we all have right to grieve in our own way and there's nothing wrong with sending emotional support to his mother even if we speak the truth about HIM. it's not that i was NEVER fond of the kid, he just AWAYS was telling some untrue story... so this whole thing comes as no surprise, just upsetting. i hope u grieve in your own way too... and come to realise that everyone who knew him is hurt by the situation... i'm just one of the lucky ones who never believed it in the first place, so i have a lot less to get over...

ps... we're not "putting him down" we're speaking of true facts... he put himself in this position, but instead of making the right... put it all on his family... like i've said before... his mother needs to know that it's not a reflection on HER and to remove all guilt over time... THAT's why my hearth goes out to her, because that's going to be the hardest part.
