Personally I think poverty is a significant issue. I have winessed children from poor backgrounds have the odds stacked against them regardless of race or gender. Poverty affects achievement in education, which affects employment opportunities and progression throughout life.
We could definitely do more to help kids of all races. In the UK, white schoolboys from poor backgrounds achieve less qualifications leaving school than any other 'minority'. Have a look on the Ofsted website at their 2007 report 'White boys from low income backgrounds - good practice in schools' for example.
Sadly, these white lads are the unrecognised losers in positive discrimination. It is not politically correct to give extra funding for additional support for white boys, because they are not in a recognised minority group.
I have noted that those who support positive discrimination against white males have an assumption that females and / or people from other racial groups are at a competative disadvantage compared to white males. I find this argument rings of prejudice, when it ignores the horrific affects of poverty on white lads.

Im glad that this post came back around. I agree with you that White male adults and boys are the most discriminated group now in both our countries. There are many people on this site that will respond with HATE and sarcasm when you bring this truth out. Just look at all the programs for all other minorities and genders in our societies. There are NONE for White Males and we are being left like trash on the sidewalk. In American collages White males make up only 30% of the student body and the percentages are falling where women and minority's are are making up the other majority and increasing every year. White males that have built the modern world yet they are on the way to extinction.

Well said, Cap'n. I found your site looking for a way for a white man like myself to REVOLT NOW! Any ideas? Nothing like a David Duke thing-too radical and opposed. Something like NAACP, or any of those other numerous organizations that do their thing legally, over time, and with numbers. Let's don't wait until we've been totally stepped on. Let's face it, those who have been discriminated against are going for our jugulars, not just equality. They have an axe to grind and we need to stop them at the equal level. Any suggestions would be appreciated regarding a group. Start our own?

Men dont complain and women and minorities bitch like hell at the smallest perceived problem.

I work at a school system and see all kinds of things for Hispanic soccer leagues or Hispanic heritage class. Why isnt there a White heritage class also...because that would be called racist. can you imagine someone trying to start a White soccer league.
Yes there is definitly a racist , sexist bias towards White men and no one can do anything about it or they are called a racist or a sexist for trying to promote white men.

you have it wrong lol. Captain A needs to know that we are in a period of feminisaion. Which means that men are becoming more female than before between their acts.This is because the advertisement was first created to target women, that's why they buy more things but by targeting men they have created a feminisation of him, shave(all his body :/), perfume, sometimes even wear thongs. Guys are getting less virile but thats because the consumption ideology has won in this globalisation economy.

Please. I'm an intelligent, white, shy and well-meaning person. I've been beaten, abused and discarded by large portions of society because I'm not socially inclined. I have less access to jobs or job opportunities both because I don't have contacts and because people of colour will be hired before I am. When I went to college, there were bursaries and scholarships for everyone BUT white males. I don't get a "while male check" every month. I don't get ANY of the supposed privileges that the white baby boomers got but I'm punished for all of their errors. That's racism and it needs to stop before a backlash begins.

How is it that any time someone makes a statement that is contrary to the left's view, that they can not respond using some type of analogy or counter arguement? Instead, the left has been taught to use offensive language and call others with differing views hateful names? Talk about racists. I think the pendulum has swung the other way and Captain A is simply trying to point out that through this action others are now being hurt? Do two wrongs make a right? Is revenge a good thing? Is it okay for a a UK leftist to throw around insults, even if you agree with them? I for one would like to know where it is okay to deny scholarships and college entrance to individuals with higher test scores, higher academic achievement, and more community involvement that someone of another race just because their heritage is white, and they happened to be born a male? Is this okay, or are we simply diluting our ability and opportunity to continue to achieve as a country because we are more willing to "right a wrong" from decades past, or that we want to ensure that another race or gender has a chance because we have historically been "bad people"? Yes, the Christian agenda did kill millions in the name of Christianity over 500 years ago. Does that make all modern Christians bad? Take a look around you and see what religion is killing people now in the sake of their faith. I would suggest it is more important to worry about today and tomorrow, than attempt to right some wrong from hundres of years back.

I am half white and half Lakota Sioux, although I present to be white. In summary, I couldn't agree more, particularly as it pertains to employment. I have applied for nearly identical positions with companies advertising themselves as "Affirmative Action Employers". In cases where I indicate my race as "white, non-Hispanic", I rarely receive a response, i.e. 1 for every 15-20 applications. For those in which I identify myself as "More than one race" the percentage increases to 1 in 10. And for those in which I indicate my race as "Native American", I receive a phone response in 1 out of 4 or 5 applications. In short, a significant difference between applying as a white male and applying as a Native American male. Bear in mind, the jobs for which I've applied are nearly identical and I am doing so with the same resume; the same knowledge, skill and experience.
So are white males discriminated against? From my experience, I would say, "affirmatively yes!"

there is no white male privilege anymore. its "brown" privilege. You know, sometimes as a white woman who is attracted to white men, I feel as if I want to go out and brutally murder all the minorities like blacks just to make the United States a white country. Maybe I shouldn't stick up for white males, but I want to because I do know that they are the most descriminated against. I hate Obama and the primary reason I didn't vote for him is because he is Black and a Liberal dummy. He is the epitome of all minorities in the United States. I wish I could change things. I wish i could kill those who are not decendents of white European ancestry, but I cannot because I don't have the power to do so. I try to unleash an evil by being angry every day, but it isn't working right now.
