My God, now they're censoring "C r a c k r o n." Where the heck are all those Clevelanders going? To Detroit? |

1 Nothing to do? Between the muggers, krack horz, homeless, and illegal after hours hangouts, there's PLENTY to do in downtown Akron late at night. |

Cleveland has many problems. If you watch the news too much, you would be scared to leave your house. I don't blame people for leaving Cleveland and the state of Ohio.

1 Funny how they pick the weirdest things to censor, but yet you can call a white guy just about anything and they let that fly. |

No surprise there. Cleveland is a crime-ridden dump.

Where's the surprise in this story?
|
|
''Perhaps in the not too distant future, people are going to be leaving arid areas of this country, the New Mexicos and the Arizonas,'' he said.''They'll come running back to Ohio, because we have water, and they're going to be thirsty.''
I doubt I'll be running back to Ohio anytime soon. Why go to a state with incredibly poor infrastructure, high taxes and no jobs? You may have water, but you can't get it to the homes and businesses! And just what do you do with your waste water...oh that's right, just flush it into the mighty Cuyahoga River. The more things change, the more they stay the same. Glad I left 25 years ago. |

1 As for Strickland's comments, REALLY?! What are you basing this prediction on, Governor? I don't know if you know this or not, but they have water in NM and AZ. They're not out there with sticks looking for wells to dig. And is that your plan for Ohio? To hope people get thirsty living in the desert? Even if they did, what would make them come HERE? Ohio isn't the only state with water. And this is why we are where we are. This state's leadership....well, there isn't any state leadership. We get one yahoo after another in office so they can work on a gun law or something else that does NOTHING to help this state's economics. WE'RE FREAKING SURROUNDED BY WATER!!! How can you NOT make that work, especially now that oil prices are so high? Stop waiting for the federal government to help us. Let's help ourselves!!! Let's quit worrying about being a red or blue state and elect capable people who can and want to do the right thing! Of course, we need those types of people to run for office in the first place. If we paid HALF of the attention to state politics as we do to who is going to be the second-string right-side tackle for the Cleveland Browns, we may actually make something out of this god-forsaken sh1thole. |

1 Having plenty of water doesn't absolve Ohio and the states around it of their economic sins. That's the truth. You HAVE TO FIX what's wrong...and that means the issues with regard to poor demographics, organized labor, business culture and education must be addressed. They will not fix themselves. Either that, or the place will descend into such a state of disrepair that no one will ever be able to do anything with it again. |

1 Ohio has tons of potential but there are certain elements controlling the state's politics (entrenched organized labor, too many blue collar old folks) who don't want change. Until those elements are neutralized, nothing good will happen there. |
