France is the best country to live in. According to International Living Magazine, France comes on top of the league among 191 countries with the best quality of life. Criteria were cost of living, culture and leisure, economy, environment, freedom, health, infrastructure (including transport), safety and climate.
France scored extremely well, thanks to its high-speed TGV trains, spare hospital beds, culture, food, ski resorts, beaches and warm climate.
The top 10 countries were: France, Australia, Netherlands, New Zealand, USA, Switzerland, Denmark, Italy, Luxembourg and Argentina.
Great Britain came only 37th, beaten by Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Panama and Mexico!

Trouble is, if we all end up in France, that will irritate the locals and the place will become unsufferable too.

France is a beautiful country - no doubt. Have to query the rating though - Cost of living in NZ is high, salary low, Statistic office states avg salary less than $40,000, highest tax rates. Highest rate of cancer - poor health service ill equipped to cope [people sent to Au for treatment. Some treatable cancers will kill due to lack of treatment provider in NZ. High crime rate, and prison population. Highest child abuse rate in OECD. Infrastructure poorly planned - threat to run out of electricity in 10yrs. Roads basic, no suitable motorway, high rate road death. World health org slammed lack of heating in NZ houses - cold, damp winters result in serious health problems, children respiratory problems. Third world diseases in Auck. Increasing poverty. Apathetic lack of development to improve regional tourist - Japanese state NZ is 'boring'.
Who gets the job of completing these surveys????

Mexico? The SAME Mexico whose citizens are streaming into the US by the millions because they can't earn a decent living in Mexico?

Any rating system that places GB behind Mexico seems a bit suspect.

I'm not posting to correct the idiot that can't speak his country's primary language correctly; I am pointing out how dumb he makes the rest of you look for even responding to him.

I realize that I am a little late on the comments but just a word on France. Do you think some of us are a bit jealous? Now before everyone starts snipping, think about it. More relaxed living, longer vacation time, and even a bit more cultural than our USA. There are more reasons but those are some of my favorites. I can't stand the constant rat race we live in. The busier we are the better? We can't stop for a second or we feel we are wasting one precious moment. It's not worth it.

LOL! I realize I am a little late on the topic but I had to laugh at this. You would assume so wouldn't you.

The problem in this country is our priorities. We are so concerned with how we look to other people alot of us don't realize we are coming out the fools. Looking good and wearing the right clothes and which celebrity is dating whom seems to be everyone's main interest.(I have also had it with the so-called reality shows) We are only caring about the environment because hollywood is putting attention on it. Africa will be completly adopted out soon, since apparently there are no other children in the world in need of help. We have hollywood to thank for that.
So when you look at us, please keep the laughter to a low roar. Most of us mean well.
