Proof of the matter lies in the Latzina map that the Argentine Government had produced and distributed 120,000 copies to their consulates all over the World.

Yep, the very same map that was accepted as evidence by the arbitrators from the United Nations International Court of Justice, in the disputed islands of the Beagle Channel.

God, works in mysterious ways.... Obviously....

Tell it to the court. I don't think they'll buy your story, having already ruled in Chile's favour using the same map.

The Flicr Site shows a photograph of one of the original maps. Considering that 110,000 were produced by the Argentine government they will be unable to 'doctor them all'.

So the wikipedia one is the "Fake"?
Let me tell you, Bob, Argentine Maps never colour the neighbouring countries, the map I posted shows Chile in White, as all the official maps before and after
Besides...note that there is a reference for two colours only, obviously related to the Argentine Territory, the Map is of Argentina
Look at the legends...they did not say "Argentina" and "Other countries" bur refer to differently populated argentine lands
The color codes are for the Country, and of course then all other countries can have no colour
And the Malvinas are in the same pale beige shade as the Southern Patagonia
No, man the flickr map is an obvious alteration, someone altered the colours, there are many ways to do it, and you know web people are perfectly capable of doing that

Look also that the Islands are named "Islas Malvinas" and whitout any comment between brackets...if the authors would have been meaning they were foreign territory, they would have named them "Falklands"...also, in the case of other states posessions, the maps always put its name between brackets...it then should have said (Inglaterra) o (Reino Unido) below the Islands name

Well, believe what it is more convenient to you, as always...
Who cares
The original documents do exist.

The copy you have shown surfaced in 1883. The original Latzina map was produced in 1882. There were 170,000 copies sent around the World. The originals shows the Falkland Islands in a different colour and proves that Argentine politicains accepted the '1850 Convention of Settlement' as bringing their 'Malvinas Case' to a close. Argentinian politicians went on record stating this fact.

Well, as we can not examine the originals this is a hopeless discussion...matter of faith really or of what you want to believe
I told you that a coloured Chile is unheard of in argentine maps of the Country. That is a convention, but believe what you want.
Tell, me however, how is then that this "golden proof" has not arised in any serious analysis or used officially
Like our "dropping" of the claim in 1850, this is only web forums material with no significance.

The Argentine president Domingo Sarmiento’s Message to the Argentine Congress on 1 May 1869:

“El estado de nuestras relaciones exteriores responde á las aspiraciones del país. Nada nos reclaman las otras Naciónes: nada tenemos que pedir de ellas, sino es la continuación de las manifestaciones de simpatía con que de parte de pueblos y gobiernos ha sido favorecida la República por sus progresos y espíritu de justicia.”(Heraclio Mabragaña 1910, vol. III, p. 286 which can be found in Biblioteca Nacional de la República Argentina, Agüero 2502, Recoleta, Buenos Aires)

“The state of our foreign relations fulfils the aspirations of the country. Nothing is claimed from us by other nations; we have nothing to ask of them except that they will persevere in manifesting their sympathies, with which both Governments and peoples have honoured the Republic, both for its progress and its spirit of fairness.”(printed in: British and Foreign State Papers 1870-1871 (printed London 1877), p. 1227-1228).

Hardly am official document for declaring the absence of any pending conflicts...an adress to Congress obviously with generalities
The official end of conflicts need documentation and signature.
And please, do not bring me the 1850 thing again....

In 1850, argentina gave up its claim to the Falkland Islands with the signing of a peace treaty known as the Convention of Settlement.

In that peace treaty there is a clause:

"VII. Under this Convention perfect friendship between Her Britannic Majesty's Government and the Government of the Confederation, is restored to its former state of good understanding and cordiality."

A. It is a treaty between Britain and Argentina.
B. It explicitly says settle existing differences.
C. The intention was to establish peaceful relations.

How can you settle your differences and leave an issue unresolved?

Kindest regards from the Falkland Islands
