And her moniker, "Iron Maggie", was given to her by the Soviets. I've always admired her. She was a strong, decisive leader who pushed Bush Sr. in the right direction to free Kuwait from Saddam. Happy birthday, Maggie!

thatcher is the reason britain no longer has a manufactoring base.she turned this country into a place where nothing is made anymore.and god only knows how we are supposed to get ourselves out of this reccession when we dont make anything we can export.rest assured if she had been in charge of the US the auto industry would not of got there multi billion dollarbail out.she would have let them go to the wall.the strong women were the miners wives and steel workers wives digging coal out of the dissused railway siddings, that i wittnessed growing up.trying to keep there familys together, and heat there homes.she is soley responsible for plungeing hundreds of thousands of people into abject poverty in the north of england.death is to good for her!

that was down to the british squaddies.do not forget at that time, the evil witch was deeply unpopular, and was never going to get re elected.its always easy to send other peoples kids to war.in the end it was her own party that got rid of the demonic bitch.it just seems funny that the only people praising her,are from foreign countrys(no offense intended)but maybe its because you didn't have to see your family and communities decemated by her policies

She destroyed the fragile communities that held this country together. During the 80's the 'everyone for themselves' capitalist motto that her vile Toryboy cronies adopted destroyed families and created chronic social problems that have lasted a whole generation since. Like most mad dictators, she created convenient wars to get votes, which is why she is 'popular' with foriegners. What an ice-cold leader she was and I will be throwing the biggest party ever when she croaks it.

I never like the way she made a big fuss over that murdering old bastard Pinochet. She didn't like fascists in Argentina, but liked the Chilean variety . I wonder why?

As a supporter of the communist regime in China you would think that way. Unfortunately success in suppressing the likes of Tibet is no way reflective of China being great, quite the opposite. And as for the Falklands, what has Britain got out of it?

I wont be completely biassed, and slag her off totally as she did make some much needed changes to the way socialist Britain was being run.

However, however .... anyone who lived in South Yorkshire during Thatcher's time would be only too aware of the tragic waste of industrial power that she inflicted on this country almost as a vendetta against the industrialists and the skilled working man.

It was she who focused on the financial services in London in preference to the industrial North. She was in fact in-line with the first of the neo-cons, Ronald Regan. Now the financial services and banking sector has now failed and is no longer capable of generating the revenue this country desperately needs, one would expect manufacturing to take the strain as in Germany or Japan. Sorry sir, but that no longer is possible. Thatcher decimated industry in the country and made it a country dependant on various wishy washy services, a country of fkin waiters.

Yes we won the Falklands. Hip Hip fkin Hooray. But where are the coal mines as North Sea Gas runs out, where is the steel in Sheffield, where's the cutlery being made now .... and no, Meadowhall does not make up for it.

Take a trip thru Sheffield now and you just see the dregs of life. Attercliffe was never picturesque, but there was real work there. Now there is just no hope. Thanks Thatcher. Thanks for sending the jobs to China you worthless fkin Biaatch!

Don't forget it was an unnecessary war. Her government reduced the commitment to that area, so the Argies saw it as a soft target. She was responsible for the death of a mate of mind by this. Happy birthday? F*ck off.

See my above post, regain is the wrong term - she was the one that lost it in the first place. I'm no lover of Brown and the cr*p we have today, but Maggie was something else.

Shouldn't want to endorse that, but he was a pillock at school, so no sympathy for him.
