I would like to see the islands as an independent country, but with a military alliance with the UK to keep the islands (by the Argentinean)

similar to the relation of USA... and some little countries of Oceania

Falklands are too underpopulated with no real economy. The UK would have to support them so "independence" would be in name only.

Why not an associate state of the EU, like St Pierre & Miquelon?

With the exception of defence, the Falklands are entirely self sufficient economically and receive no financial aid whatsoever from the UK. The main problems with the an independent Falklands' small population are not economic but defence and diplomatic representation abroad. For these they need another country to provide assistance. In the case of diplomatic representation, the diplomats the other country would provide would act under orders of the Falklands government and not under orders of their own government.

Que piensas e los argentinos?!?(ni que yo fuera)
Creo que mejor que sean independientes, pero los actuales falklandeces no tienen nada en contra de Argentina. Si se estan guardando rencor medio mundo tambien tendria que estar en su contra.

The peoples of all these countries are British

United Kingdom:
England Scotland Wales Northern Ireland

Crown Dependencies:
Isle of Man, Jersey, Guernsey

Overseas Territories:
Anguilla, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Falkland Islands, Gibraltar, Montserrat, Pitcairn Islands, Saint Helena (inc Tristan da Cunha), Turks and Caicos Islands

But only people of England are English. The people of the Falkland Islands are Falkland Islanders

One of the Pitcairn Islanders said that the recent child-sexual abuse case which nearly depopulated their island is merely an attempt by the UK to move the rest of the islanders to NZ so they can close it up.

It's too far away from the UK and has no real economic benefit for them to keep it.

I would imagine in 30 or so years they may off it to Chile.

The Falklands are the same way. The UK can't defend it forever. Simply put it is too pricy.

They're about to lose their credit rating and I'm sure Jamaicans and Arabs and Bangladeshis in London and Manchester won't be too hot about being forced to travel 10K miles to fight to save a bunch of worthless rocks that were stolen from Argentina when the only non-whites in England were slaves.....

Hell, MI5 can barely keep their own Muslim hoards in Londistan from bombing the subway and city centre.

Why would non-British immigrants bleed and die for the Queen?

But the British Commonwealth isn't. The Falklands are a self-governing territory of the Commonwealth, like Newzealand.
And the Falklands don't want anything to do with the Argentine. They have friends near enough: civilized countries such as Chile, Uruguay and Newzealand.

One solution to this diplomatic row with Argentina, is:
If the Islanders do not want to be Argentine, the best way to express to the world is the independence of the United Kingdom, while maintaining a cooperative relationship, because I believe that the islands themselves can not economically build a fully independent country.

I hate my countrymen!!!!

Daily Horoscope for December 7

Aquarius

You're full of energy and determination right now, especially when it comes to nailing an ambition or making a name for yourself. You'll want to give it your best shot, and you'll get very annoyed if you feel your efforts are being frustrated by others. Watch out for a rather tense atmosphere with someone older or more influential than you, as this could lead to a row.
