Sinn Fein says sorry for IRA killing of Irish cops

Jan 29, 2013 | Posted by: roboblogger | Full story: The Miami Herald

Sinn Fein leader Gerry Adams apologized Tuesday for the Irish Republican Army's killing of seven police officers and soldiers in the Republic of Ireland, the latest such statement of regret over past bloodshed to come from the IRA-linked party.

I knew the other political parties couldn't help but make some political capital on Sinn Fein over this. Regardless, Sinn Fein are at double support of what they were at the last Irish General Election (2011)(10% of the vote = 14 seats in parliament), and have a very good chance of being the second biggest party after the 2016 election!!!

Suppose this comes down to the fact that Fianna Fail ruined the economy, and Fine Gael/Labour coalition have gone back on many of their outlandish promises made before the last General Election.

Irish politics needs a kick in the arse, lets hope the civil war party domination (Fine Gael vs Fianna Fail) is now gone, aswell as the parish pump gombeenism which affects rural Irish politics....

An example of rural gombeenism can be seen below if anyone is interested LOL

The welfarist immigrant Sinn Fein party, who support borrowing huge amounts of money at unaffordably high interest rates.

Maybe they should apologise for murdering Irish civilians and Irish policemen in the failed terrorist Easter Rising, the failed terrorist campaign of 1919-1922, and the pointless civil war?

Why?

Fine Gael, Fianna Fail and every other party in the Republic of Ireland see the 1916 Rising and the War of Independence as completely justified. Fine Gael trace their roots back to Michael Collins, Fianna Fail trace their roots back to Eamon DeValera, and the Irish Labour Party trace theirs back to James Connolly. All true patriots who fought for the foundation of this country......

Why should Sinn Fein apologise for justified things that happened in the 1916-1921 period? Queen Elizabeth bowed her head and placed a wreath for the Irishmen who fought against Britain in this period, lets not forget that......

If any party in this country attempted to degrade the actions of Irish patriots in the 1916-1921 period it would be political suicide.......

They were just terrorist scum who murdered their own people. Partition had already been given in 1914.

Bollocks they are revered in the country and commemorated every year.

Queen Elizabeth bowed and laid a wreath for the men who fought to free Ireland, that period included.

Partition had not been decided upon, which left the Unionists DESPONDENT heading into WW1.....

Didn't have any proper fight in them in the 1921-1921 period though. Strange that......

When have they ever fought the Irish on this island without outside help? Oh thats right never have never will.....

The vast vast majority of this island voted for Sinn Fein in 1917 send out a clear message that they wanted out of the UK. Pity the British couldn't just grant it then, instead of embarrassing themselves and being booted out. All the while the Ulster-Protestants pathetically did NOTHING to help their so called British comrades who were fighting in the south of Ireland, even with what was it 25,000 rifles at the ready in Ulster? They sold out the southern Unionists without EVER LIFTING a finger to help them.....

At least the IRA in the south attempted to help their people in Ulster in the 1919-1921 period. Unlike the hot air brigade.....

People vote for political parties for a whole variety of reasons. And the General Election of December 1918 was rigged in Ireland by IRA terrorists.

All the soldiers were going to be withdrawn as soon as partition came into effect.

Did nothing to help? My great-grandfather was in the Black and tans upholding law and order.

Variety of reasons? The IPP of the Home-Rule persuasion was pretty much demolished at that election after being a political goliath, and were replaced by Sinn Fein who were once a small micro-movement who used to believe in the idea of a dual monarchy, but had changed to an independence view by that General Election. Showing the view of the vast vast majority of Irish people was that of pro-independence.

Also it wasn't rigged. More fantasy history.

Partition under the British idea only would have given 2 devolved parliaments to the island within the UK. Hence the British Army would have still been the army of the entire island, which changed after their evacuation in 1922 when the Irish Free State was established.

Yes did nothing but burn Catholics out of their homes in Ulster. Never put their 25,000 rifles to any use to help the southern Unionists. Left them out to dry from day one......

Returning officers were threatened by IRA gunmen armed with rifles unless they said the Sinn Fein candidate was elected.

Lloyd George had already abandoned the idea of the south remaining in the UK during World War I. A self-governing south would have had its own army and flag.

My great-grandfather Ciaran Aiken prevented Northern Ireland from being handed to the communist scum in the south.

What complete nonsense.

There was no agreement during WW1 over anything, and again no agreement about any flag or anthem. Home Rule within the UK was all that was on offer.

By burning Catholics out of their homes? 25,000 rifles and they bottled it and done nothing to help either the British fighting in the south or the southern Unionists. They sat on their weapons in fear of the southern IRA and never came down for a fight. Never have taken on the Irish without outside help anyway. Still paranoid about what happened in the 1640's when they last tried to go it alone LOL......
