Very good article! Quote:

"This means that the United States would find itself with little control over how its weapons might be used on the ground.

The most recent evidence of this was the bizarre incident earlier this week, confirmed by the government in Kiev, where 311 Ukrainian troops of the 72nd Army brigade laid down their arms and crossed the border into Russia. Moscow’s claim that they were trying to defect is suspect, especially since dozens of the troops have reportedly returned to Ukraine. Kiev argues that the troops simply ran out of ammunition.

Whatever the correct explanation turns out to be, it is odd that large units, presumably commanded by at least mid-level officers, would try to escape rebel fire by seeking protection on enemy territory. At best it indicates poor logistical and operational planning. At worst it means that weapons sent by the United States to Ukraine might well end up in rebel or Russian hands. There are conflicting reports about whether the border-crossing troops destroyed their weapons, or instead left them on the field for rebels to pick up."

Quote:

"But the lack of discipline and professionalism goes further. There have been numerous cases, well documented by Western journalists, of Ukrainian forces firing on civilians in recent months. Human Rights Watch believes that indiscriminate rocket fire used by Ukrainian or pro-Kiev forces in Donetsk has killed over a dozen civilians in violation of international laws of war. The New York Times reports that the Ukrainian army probably shelled a Donetsk dental clinic by accident on Wednesday."

A dozen?

Multiply that by 100.

While arming Russian terrorists who can't tell the difference between a military plane and a civilian airliner is a good idea?

Yeah, they can cry all they want, the weapons have already left for Ukraine. I am sure it will piss Putin off but at this point I do not think any leader in the word cares

It would be a tragedy if Ukraine ended in tribal warfare like Libya is currently experiencing.

That could happen thanks to the US and its Euro Prostitutes and the utter stupidity of some Ukrainians who have resurrected the Bandera mentality.

Nope, the US should have sent in the jets like they are in Iraq and the Syrian war would have been over and we would not see ISIL in Iraq, but whiners like you prevent control of these terrorists. If Palestinians would learn what a cease fire is there would be peace but as long as they shoot rockets and mortar into Israel they should prepare for a lot more damage to the Gaza strip

You are an idiot, the ISIL they are bombing in Iraq are the ones they have supported in Syria but they were called moderate Islamists whatever that means, they have been slaughtering Christians and beheading people for three years in Syria but all you could do was blame Assad you would have been happy to see those savages take over in Syria, sorry to disappoint you but the Syrian people have prevailed.

George, like McCain, thought that ISIS were all progressive democrats.

They probably still do.

I'm from Bulgaria. Russia is trying to establish influence in the region. Use all methods. On the other hand the United States is not interested in how many people can suffer and trying to prevent Russia's economic interests. Countries such as Ukraine became an arena for this fight. Given that everything happens to the Russian border is possible to trigger a nuclear war, God forbid .... MACKE MONEY MACKE MONEY

The topic, "Why arming Ukraine is a bad idea" is an apparent attempt to divert attention from the real issue, "why Russia is arming and aggressing against Ukraine."

The world understands that Putin's nothing but a bully who's working against the interests of the Russian people. Let's not divert our attention from the real issue.
