Right now, you can’t compare Ethiopia military with anyone! The soldiers in the army are not as tough as it used to be during the derge regime. Almost all except Tigray soldiers are fed-up with TPLF ethnic centered policy. They are waiting for the right time to leave the military. Right now they are using it as the source of income.

According to their ranking system, which has some methodology unlike any of the military debates I see on here, Egypt followed by South Africa. Ethiopia isn't included in their list because its not a comprehensive ranking, just a list of nations that can project power beyond their border regions
