Thanks to its position near the middle east and asia bole airport might have surpassed the airports in nairobi and hurghada.

" Bole International Airport is one of the busiest airports in Africa with 6.5 million passengers recorded in 2012. "

In Asmara airport only one 50 seater aircraft per week lands. Somebody can calculate for me the annual passengers. In Singapore International Airport, every 5 minute one Jmbo Jet airplane lands. compare this with Africas Singapore Eritrea. "Miskin" nation!

Quite impressive.
If the statistics are correct number of passengers increased by about a million in each of the last two years. Membership of EAL in star alliance is another factor.

These morons constructed Airport in Massawa financed by Qatar. It is only 5 minutes air travel from Asmara!!!! For check in you need 2 hours; for check out you need at leasy 30 minutes. It means you waste 2 and half hours for five minutes air travel!!!!

A tip for bole airport adminstrators:

Thousands of people visiting the airport daily means a great opportunity to sell all kinds of services and goods. Expand the airport to resemble shopping malls or shopping centers like Merkato or piazza.

Bole Airport's location make it Asia's, meaning 60% of the world population's, gateway to Africa.
Forget Johannesburg,Cairo and Lagos Bole could soon become the busiest airport in Africa.

A number of countries in the region aspire to benefit from their location between Asia,Africa and Europe such as the gulf states and Turkey, which plans to build the biggest airport in the world with 150m annual capacity. At present the airport in Atlanta with 90m is the biggest. Bole could achieve 30m in the near future and should use the slogan "Asia's gate to Africa" that some countries like South Africa are already using.

Has Bole airport now taken the position of “ The biggest airport in east and central Africa “ from Jomo Kenyata airport in Nairobi ?
It should aspire to become the biggest airport in the whole of Africa.
And actually that is the plan of the Ethiopian Airlines for some years.

Ethiopian Airlines aims to become the largest carrier in Africa by 2025

Good, but why is tplf endangering the growth of traffic in the airport by allowing ferenjis to pass checkpoints without being controlled ?
What if such a ferenji is a terrorist or hijacker employed by eritrea, al qaeda or g7 ?

These unsophisticated woyanes need to get it that the world is a very sophisticated place, they need to consider thousands even tens of
thousands of variables and factors before deciding to take any action.

Bole Air port will continue to grow ETHIOPIAN will be the pride of Africa. This is achieved through visionary leadership and hard work. In the aviation industry the only way out for success is to have clear vision and implement it relentlessly not by criticizing everything.

When the airport has reached 30m passengers annually it could create job opportunities for tens of thousands.Airports of that size in the west are like small cities.
