Ethiopia’s new prime minister, Hailemariam Desalegn, has expressed frustration with the Tigrean People Liberation Front (TPLF) to a group of close friends he recently met. One long time friend of the prime minister (who wants to remain anonymous) told Ethiopian Review today that Hailemariam is finding it impossible to get cooperation from the TPLF members who are dominating the bureaucracy and military on a number of issues, most particularly making personnel decisions. TPLF officials also keep him in the dark on national security matters and he doesn’t get timely reports as a commander-in-chief.
Ethiopian Review’s source also said Hailemariam wants to give amnesty to all political prisoners, but hardliners in the TPLF-dominated state security are dead set against it.
Asked if Hailemariam is concerned about his security, the source said that all his family and friends are extremely worried, but Hailemariam himself doesn’t seem to be concerned.
Hailemariam wants to mend relations with the Eritrean government and he was furious that the Ethiopian football federation requested change of venue for the scheduled soccer match with Eritrea. Hailemariam believes that peaceful relations with Eritrea will solve most of the security issues in the region. However, TPLF LEADERS BELIEVE THAT ERITREA POLICY IS THEIR DOMAIN AND THEY DON'T WANT Hailemariam TO COME NEAR IT,Ethiopian Review source said.
The Nile river dam project is another area where Hailemariam feels that he is being sabotaged. Ever since the late dictator Meles Zenawi died last July, the TPLF has almost completely withdrawn support for the project, which is currently facing a crippling shortage of funds. Construction workers are not being paid on time, and critical supplies and equipments are not arriving. Much of the funds that have been collected so far have also been unaccounted for, the source said.

Judging by what is written here it could be

1. Total fabrication or guessing

2. Partly fabrication in particular the eritrean part.

But this is a very important issue.

First of all the puppet PM should know that TPLF needs him.

Secondly time is not on his side but on the side of TPLF.

So if the puppet PM wants to achieve anything he should do it as soon as possible, the more he waits the more difficult things get for him.
So he should think carefully, get advice from trustful persons like amaras and be in contact with foreign states like the US and foreign media and human right groups and take some BOLD measures like releasing all political prisoners against the will of the tplf.

He should do that to test tplf people and to bring them in a difficult situation or in a dilemma where they will lose no matter how they act.

As i said above tplf needs the puppet PM to create the semblance that it is not in power, that other tribes can also hold such a position, that the system is fair etc. That semblance is also important to tplf' s western supporters.
The longer the puppet PM stays in power the more established tplf power will be after meles death and the lesser a threat will the puppet PM be to it.

Assume the PM calls a press conference with large presence of the western media and declares to immediately release all political prisoners and thousands of ethiopians together with western and other journalists waiting at the gates of the jails to greet the released prisoners.
That would put tplf in a dilemma and in both cases it will lose.

If it releases the prisoners to keep the semblance, it will lose authority and the puppet PM becomes popular and more powerful.

If it refuses to release the prisoners it will show to the whole world who really is in power and its western supporters would find it harder to support it.

So the PM should take bold measures, the sooner the better !

They can easily ignore the journalists as its not their first time to lie,im wondering if Ethiopians follow up other websites and what has been released in wikileaks about your govt?i doubt it!
Its the cheapest tool and would kill their parents for their chair.
Do you think the western powers don't know about woyane crimes they are committing?huh you are so naive, the usa and the others know everythinking they do and its not their business even if they burn the whole nation as long as woyane is loyal and remain a useful tool for their policy in Africa.do be naive and believe the human right stuff, their is nothing called human right nor aid its interest interest interest and interests only.

The nations are joining to lend a hand and thus to advance living style of their people so that to create economically developed country. Almost 99.9% of the people also needs and supports living a better life that basis at democratic env`t. So what is the benefit of these o.1% people that always need disintegration instead creating agreement among people. For sure these almost 0% people are wasting their time instead of passing their life span doing good that can enjoy them and their honest family. These disintegration minded helpless people are talking for nothing. Ethiopia nowadays is not in the mentality of departure. The worthful diversity is these days, the beauty of our country (not the sign of making one lower and the other upper like you(0.1%)wants to do.
I am sure you will die discriminating people with out tasting what is in your hand. you always need oppressor not democrat

He is a stooge of weyane, no real power. Power base is still in north. Addis takes orders from Tigray for last 21 years. This is irrefutable.

I am tired of efforts that says Ethiopian government should be led by Amara tribesmen only. This is just ridiculous in multi-ethnic country. I mean, why is Ethiopia such a joke?

Ethiopia is a third world country. People are different. life is different in Ethiopia. The nation has been closed from outside contact and civilization on numerous reasons and circumstances. There are a lot of things to blame for that. You can mention what comes to your mind.

Most of all. The people of Ethiopia are not refusing to change hard.

If you look to other countries who were not under foreign aggression or operation, People have been able to catch to civilization. Look to the Calendar of Ethiopians. it is now 2005. should it not be 1005.
a lot of things in Ethiopia are done or customized in millennium back.

Dumba$$ tigre,
it is not wise to deny what is yeAdebabay misTer. It is a public knowledge that the PM and the first lady can not travel abroad together.

" TPLF Holding Hostage AU Chairman & Ethiopian PM Hailemariam Dessalegne

UNBELIEVABLE !

The chairman of the AU is treated like a kid and held as a hostage by tigres.
Yet another disgrace the tigres brought to our country and continent !

Quote:

"Based on recent report, Hailemariam Dessalegne is treated like a little kid.
He is told not to swim or stay up after 8:00pm local time. Hailemariam's daughters are worried their father will be killed by his Tigrean boss, any day. Some people are whispering if both Hailemariam and his wife Roman Tesfay Hailemariam were allowed to travel abroad, they would seek asylum. For that reason TPLF would not let them travel together. One is held for ransom at all times, in case the travelled one refuses to come back like many Ethiopian "politicians" are doing these days."

Typical Shabia propaganda for the last twenty years. It doesn't have any effect only Ethiopian and Eritrean Shabias don't understand it.
