According to western intelligence sources Turkey has been working to build nuclear weapons for some years.
If Turkey has the bomb Saudi Arabia may also want to have it and buy from Pakistan , Egypt could also follow suit and then Ethiopia will be surrounded by nuclear powers.
The sooner the Nile conflict is settled and the dam built the better.

no way the dam will be built too expensive, would destroy the local environment, and besides, egypt/sudan would team up according to wikileaks and destroy it. they would even go so far as to fund ethiopian freedom fighters (i.e amhara/oromo) to liberate the country from tigray dictatorship.

I think he was trying to say was that because of the dam lots of indigenous people are in danger of flooding and extinction. It is also bad for the environment. Don't put words on people's mouth.

The dam does not affect indigenous pple and environmentally it it is sound. Your friend's comment was an envy. He said the dam will be completed when pigs fly. What a retarded comment!!

The environmental consequences of large dams are numerous and varied, and includes direct impacts to the biological, chemical and physical properties of rivers and riparian (or "stream-side") environments.
