Another attempt by Moscow to increase problems with people without citizenship in Estonia and Latvia.
Now they have a new excuse for not applying to the Estonian or Latvian citizenship and Moscow can still hysterically claim that we have too much non-citizens. |

Ivan, living well in Estonia? Complete the requirements and become an Estonian citizen or go back to the Fatherland. Remember that to be an EU citizen (thru Estonian citizenship)is a million times better than going back to the land of your forefathers. Make a rational, quality decision for the future of your offspring. Sentimentality is 90% nonsense and perhaps 10% substance.

Estonia is breaking the European Human Rights Charter by denying Russians living within its border automatic Estonian citizenship.
Medvedev is addressing that anomaly by granting these Russian free access to Russia. |

Most countries on earth are "breaking the European Human Rights Charter by denying immigrants living within its border automatic citizenship" They can have free access to Russia just by picking up the Russian citizenship. |

The European Human Rights Charter only apply to Europe, not to the whole world. If most countries grant automatic citizenship, why Estonia don't do it? Russian ethnics living in Estonia shouldn't be forced to pick up Russian citizenship: they should be granted Estonian citizenship. Anything else is just discriminatory and racist. |

But most countries don't grant automatic citizenship. I'm still waiting for your list of most modern countries which have no language requirements. Sure, and noone does force them. Most other countries don't do it. |
