They do date white man, and black man and none Eritreans too. But for the most part, our Eritrean people choose to date and marry our own Eritrean bro/sis because of the shared experience we have in social, cultural and poitical struggle.
So I hope you don't think it is necessarily because we don't date any other colour rather we prefer Eritrean to any other race.

P.S. I almost forgrot there is also the language barrier. However, one is more readily accepted if one were to speak the language than not.

Since you asked the question let me honest with you.
Eritreans tend to move in a tight and close knit circle. And that circle is extremely hard to break away from, because for many it's all they know. By marrying a non Eritrean especially if you are female is extremely difficult because you will forever be alienated from your people. Families put on a lot of pressure on their children especially there daughters to marry an Eritrean person and to sort of go against the grain or what is culturally acceptable puts you outside not only community circle but also your family and for many that is too much of a sacrifice.
I should also mention that just because you are Eritrean doesn't mean that any ole Eritrean will do,there are religious and ethnic compatibility issues to consider within the Eritrean circle before you accept to marry anyone.
Eritreans through hundred years of European colonial invaders as well as the Turks, the Egyptians to mention a few only survived by staying close to each other, by holding on to their cusoms, traditions, religion (either Muslim or Christian - Orthodox, Catholic or Anglican) and not letting outsiders come in and dilute their identity.
So really the fact that you are white may be one of the reasons or it may not be any reason at all for why your girl refuses to marry you.

My wife is Eritrean, and I am a white American and we get along great and learn from one another. Eritrean culture is amazing, and Ingera is now my favorite food. We have a beautiful little girl together, and she has been to Eritera! We will be happy for the rest of our life together.
