There are some who marry for an honest way but that ratio is so low the risk isn't worth it. Trust me.

Hello all,
I just wanted to say that egyptian men are not the only men to hurt women. The men our country hurts us even more that a foreigner. I am sure not all egyptian men are the same, a couple of guys have made it bad for the rest to even have a fighting chance. I have egyptian friends who are very wonderful, loving and caring. I am sorry to hear that some of you got hurt by egyptian men, but when going into any kind of relationship we should always use caution if your gut is telling you that it is not right, then follow your gut.

it's more than a couple, it's a great big ratio to be honest. MOST of them who marry the woman who are older than the men are doing it for papers only.
They usually end up leaving, divorcing and/or going back to EGypt to marry a younger local girl.
There are those that don't do this but I would say the ones who do it honestly are in the minority. Truthfully.

I wish people would see how these men advertise for Western women. It's almost an insult. As if they think Western women are so desperate as to be sitting around begging to be married. There aren't women to marry in their own countries? LOL Keep believing they are all so great and YOUR GUY is the different one. The chances of your getting the good, honest and decent one are about 2%. They do occur but the chances are so low it isn't worth the risk.

I know a brit who married an Egyptian man and took him back home with her. She paid for things, he got two part time jobs he could find (you are right, seems it is difficult for them to find work there) and he paid her back the money as he earned. He is almost completed with his residency status (?) and they are pregnant with their first little baby. It is possible but I have heard that the costs are quite high there.

Whereas, in the states, it is more difficult to get the husband there but cheaper in the long run. Also, the Egyptian men in America have no problems (usually) of finding work. Unless they live in the mid-west or something.

Dear All, As for marrying an Egyptian man....I had a heck of a time doing so...because of issues in the past or complaints of this kind...which sort of made the experience such a pain in the butt! I myself plodded ahead and even had a terrible time getting a visa for my husband during our engagement period. He is a very established business man who had no interest whatsoever in coming here except to visit until he retires...and was denied initially a tourist visa because we were honest in saying he was coming to meet my family. Let me tell you...all things done and said, I got my man a long visa...as long as he needed since our intentions were finally deemed honourable and true. But, we had our positive loving spirit and lots of patience. In the end, he came to Canada for a marriage here in Niagara Falls, and had a lovely ceremony. Just to let all of those know, it does and can work....we have had a long distance marriage now for three years...and going on four together. I am moving to EGYPT until he retires. So, there you go...in our case...HE DID NOT use me...or manipulate me...nor was he selfish. He is a kind loving man, and thank goodness I am a woman who made a choice with my brain and my heart. I investigated his family, background, work, homes...kids, ex-wife...etc...and took my time. It was worth all the effort, travel(which he happily pays for) and the rewards are great! The only reason I didn't join him in the beginning was I have two teenaged sons...and he has also...Good luck to all...but there are GREAT men out there and do not make such bold statements regarding middle east or Egyptian in general because everyone is diferent, and we must work hard to break down this type of stereotype!!

If there were smart Egyptian men they would start businesses to investigate men for foreign women considering marriage. You could easily charge $300 fee for the investigation (1500+ EGP) ~.
