Effects of Hurricane Dean in Santiago or Dajabon?

My parents (both in their 60's) arrived in Santiago Friday afternoon. They activated a phone and called my sister around 2pm saying all was well. We haven't heard from them since Friday. I am curious to know if their was significant damages reported in the central areas of DR.

I was wondering if somebody new if the Dominican Republic was hit hard because on Saturday my Sister with her Husband arrived there hope to hear from somebody they were coming from Italy
