Hi Ryan:
I to am looking to purchase a condo, perhaps in PC. I have been to a number of places in the caribbean but have never been to the DR. I am going to PC this november and staying at th RIU Palace. I would appreciate it if you would share with me the answer to your question? If all is good, can you suggest some places to look at condos? I would like to be on or close to the beach and am looking for a 2/2 condo in the price range of $250,000.
I would appreciate any help;
Norm

Hi Norm and TJM and Rob from Virginia. Think you guys so much for responding to my questions about buying property in Punta Cana, DR. I still need alot more information. As I said in my first inquiry I want to know about security, utility services, buying appliance, furniture and buying a car in DR. I am looking at a community in the Brisas de Bavaro area and at a comunity in the Bavaro La Altagracia area. These are very new residential communities. The properties are being handled by Trust Real Estate.

Norm, you said that you would be going to DR this coming Feb. I plan on making the trip around the last week of Dec 2010 or maybe around the first two weeks of Jan 2011. If I see what I like , I may close on a house at that time.

TJM, you said that you have been to Punta Cana and that you stayed in the resort hotel ares. If you know, what was security like outside the resort areas.

Rob, you said that you have property there./ I would really like to talk to you.

All you folks can e-mail directly with me if you would like. You can e-mail me at:

paladin41055@yahoo.com

I would really appreciate it. And Norm and TJM, I of course will let both of you know what I find out. I really hope someone e-mails me soon. Thanks

It's a beautiful place down here and you can find everything, it's safer if you live near tourists community, I have a beach house in Las Canas, all my neighbors are nice including Domingos.
You need to draw lines other wise you stay with no privacy. Buying a car is so easy, just make sure to check it with the local police, PLAN PILOTO they call it, and never pay for what they ask, they ask more to get what they really want to sell it for

Hi, We live in Punta Cana. By the way Bavaro is not Punta Cana and many people here are confusing the two. I would not want to live in Bavaro. So what do you all want to know. It is boaring and expensive on the east coast with discrimination against Americans and Canadians, etc. I have lived in the DR for 11 years so I know. There is no colera outbreak here. Yes it is easy to buy a car but if you have a accident you will pay......
