What's the point of this post? Ok, you're not black, feel better. It true that some Dominicans have more African blood in them than others, ok. Color wise, some are black but you say you aren't so I guess you aren't. Now go to sleep.
I know right they got some nerve to say we obesses over color when they're the ones screaming they're not. Black they're white.

Black/indian and I look very black and I'm very proud too. They should accept themselves whole so stupid fights don't start especially when you can clearly see they look some what differnt than their white counter parts. I even had to slap a few mexicans some reality you ain't white if your skin is brown.
Right! It's there just accept it. At the end of the day, you wouldn't be here if it wasn't for all the parts that make you so be proud.

To the OP... you come across mighty hateful for a brown person, you know that?
Oh, like being called black is suuuuuuch a fucking insult, right? Cuz White Americans still hate us n*****s and think we're all ugly, don't they? Man, your thing says Czech Republic, but have you even set foot into the USA? Yeah we black folk still got issues, but we're literally lauded for our talent and sex appeal. And we're pretty f*****g smart if we do say so ourselves. Anyone who tells you you're inferior because you "look black" is a g*d damned bigot and shouldn't EVER be listened to! That right there is just common knowledge. Be Dominican, but if you of any other Dominican ever get called black, you take that shit as a damn compliment!

you don't have to have dark skin and nappy hair for americans to see you as 'black'. black in america isn't the same as black in other places.

I'm sure there's a way to get your ridiculous point across without being a d*****. Your not qualified to represent the Dominican people.
Spark wrote:
Hey,
I am Dominican and call myself Latino. I don't have fat lips or nose, don't have nappy hair and I look Mexican. I reside in Europe and when I met my Spanish teacher for the first time he said 'You look 'Spanish'(this is the way some Latinos call other Latinos) before he knew who I was.
Why should I call myself 'black' because some AA c*nt with issues on the Internet said so? And yes like most Latinos (sorry but even Mexicans have got like 3-5% black in them) I have some black in me (probably less than 10%).
It's true there are a lot of blacks and mulattoes in the DR but claiming all are is just as dumb as saying all Americans are white. And yes I am sure there are some Dominicans that are black or half black and don't want to be called black. My dad even told me a funny story about his black friend that had in his passport something like "dark Indian".(And I agree it's pretty stupid to do so) When you think about it some half blacks that don't want to be called black makes sense. If they were born in a Latino region, speak Latino language and share Latino culture and just because they are part black they don't want to be called black because they have never had any African culture in them (yes Latino music/food has some African features but rather insignificant)
You never see white people going around other people are white, or Asians trying to claim anyone who at least partly resembles them. On the other hand why AA try to claim other peoples? It's like if I had HIV or something I'd subconsciously (although would not probably admit it) want other people want it too. Same is if I had an F at school I don't want to be alone. Seems like you guys think black is a 'curse' and since you don't have any culture or achievements on your own you want other people feel the same. I am sorry since ancient Egyptians were most likely black (so much proof when you look in it) but even them got whitewashed so most people think they were aryan or 'dark whites' at most. By subscribing into this type of thinking you're automatically subscribing to white supremacy thinking.
Instead of looking up to people like Malcolm X so many black people have these idiots like Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj or puppet Obama. These guys are purposefully chosen by whites to keep you in your ignorant position. I suggest that by investing time in yourselves will pay off much more than going around on the Internet claiming everyone is black so you don't feel that bad about yourselves. I also agree that it is very stupid for anyone especially non white (Latino) to be racist against blacks. Here in Europe everyone would be a victim of such abuse.
This guy http://www.topzine.cz/wp-content/uploads/2011... is for example always racially attacked in the comments, frequently called the n word and when he was starting to rap he said that many times people purchased tickets just so they could heckle.

I'm dominican and black
I claim both
I always looked at black Dominicans in DR as black Dominicans and the white ones white dominicans .
Just as in America there are black and white Americans.
I don't see what the big deal is........I'm brown skin Ive been told I look mixed, my hair is not nappy at all and I'm into both of my cultures....the black American side and the black dominican side..... Most of my dominican family looks black....and when I visited Dr a couple years ago most of the pol in DR look like they have some kind of black in them..... But I agree with some of u guys both arguements
Because... one..... if u dominican and look black....UR BLACK u have some type of African decent. Esp. In America your just a black dominican that speaks Spanish
But at the same time I agree with some of u 100 percent Dominicans
if u were born and raised in DR or in a 100 percent Dominican house hold it's hard to say that ur black just because u look black when all u know is that ur dominican.
Either way it doesn't make a diff here in America they don't care if u got 1% or look an ounce black to a white man in America u are Absoultly black! They are not looking at what language is spoken, or type of music or food u like..... white looks white black looks black period be proud of who u are n what u look like.
Dominicans black or not who cares beautiful is beautiful At the end of the day.
I'm proud of my dominicanas (waves flag) and my black ppl (puts fist up)

Hispanoila hispanic not latin that's a ddamn shame there's many african launages spoken through out central and south america. Don't dominicans want to be white? Every dominican I've seen while in the states are dark. Some even told me that they are lower class citizens. Dominicans are some crazy bipolar people (the ones I know). A friend of mine is gonna become a panamaian citizen she hates being dominican say que lo que around her and she gets mad. She hates d.r never went over there again its been 7 years for her. She'll visit when she is panamaian citizen to brag to peoples she knows over there and in the states. I'm really glad she hates being dominican I'm the only one that accepts her for the way she is.
Like the desperate attention seeking whore you are, you're just fishing for negative reactions. It's a good thing you're gone, maybe this forum will be a lot less dumber now. Judging by the name of this thread and the ignorant and naive comments in it, I highly doubt it though.

I didn't even have to read the whole nonsense of a post to understand you're having an identity crises. You're Dominican, No one can deny you are Latino, Congratulations. Now be honest with yourself, you'll feel a whole lot better and won't feel the need to prove how non black you are. But lets be clear. Being black is about your race and descendants of Africa and being Dominican is about where your ancestral slaves were dropped off. Dominican is not a race. Period. Did you know more than 90% of Dominicans have African Ancestry? The truth of the matter is, it's irrelevant to the issue whether you speak Spanish, have thin lips, good hair, eat sancocho, whatever. That's what you call evolution and mating. No matter how you slice it your DNA traces back to Africa. The real issue here is not to prove how Dominican you are, or to identify yourself outside of black. It is self hate and brainwashing by society and your own peers. There are Dominicans darker than Midnight who would use there last breath to prove how they aren't Black or have no traces to Africa. It's laughable. The proof is in the pudding honey. Just look at your neighbors, Haitians. Do you think they aren't black or African? No, they just got the unlucky half of the island right? Get over yourself. At the end of the day.. your ancestors bled the same blood and cried the same tears as those that got dropped of in Haiti, Jamaica, Cuba, etc.

Who ever say that Dominicans are not proud our African heritage must be smoking some serious blunts,
..Just go to DR and see all our culture, festivities, food, music, color ,everything...
Being Dominican is not about the color of the skin, its a nationaity , a mixed country with Blacks, whites, arab and now even a little Asian minority in heritage..
The white minority doesn't go around saying , we are Europeans , having a Spanish flag at home or celebrating Running of the Bull or any other Spanish party. So why do Black and Mulattos have to be all Africa here and Africa there??...We have become a unified country of many people, and thats how we like it.We are not interested in the segregational point of views of the US , either white or black, no in between.
Another Funny point that the haters bring out about Dominicans is the expression." De color Indio". and say that Dominicans use it to deny our African heritage..lol The funniest thing, no historical facts at all, just keep repeating what some insecure racist people keep saying in the internet..That expression come from the 1600 when the Spanish authorities started calling the Mulattos as DE COLOR INDIO , because Mulattos are brown , just like the indians, it have nothing to do with denying Africa, Stop making up fake crap.
If Dominicans were so insecure about our Brown and black color with more than 2,000,000 outside the DR in Europe and US, all we have to do is marry whites and have kids to whitten the blood..lol But that is not our main priority. Its sad that some people can't stand a Mulatto country that doesn't blame Spain for everything and get along just fine with whites...
Beside .. how many of the so call PROUD AFRICANS HERITAGE LOVERS IN HERE .. are learning an African language?? How many travel as tourist to African to help the brothers there???..Most don't know shit about Africa and wouldnt go there for anything , and yet online want to sound like proud Zulu warriors.
I am Dominican and proud of having African and Spanish heritage, I don't need a Spanish Flag, run with the bulls and I also don't need a map of Africa in my living room, have an Afro to be proud, we are happy with who we are.
If you don't like the way we are , well thats life, go back to your AA or Haitian forum and hate there.

. What is it that piss you off so much about Dominicans???.Where are you from?? or should I also ask about your parents nationality???..Have you ever traveled to the DR???.. Cause the first thing you notice there is our heritage, African and Spanish, lots of African heritage specially in our Color, music , and festivities...I am just wondering how you came up with the idea that Dominicans deny our heritage, we love our music, food, hitory..so tell me, what do you want??..Is it so bad to see our country as a mixed country or do you like the Haitian point of view better???. They didnt like whites and mulattos, thats why they killed them all. Tell you what, we are damn happy beig a mayority Mulattos, follow by blacks and whites and even the whites are happy to be Dominicans.
