This is exactly what Haiti needs.
Instead of sending just dry food to Haiti, the UN should and must help the haitians grow their own foods and build their own farms. Until they learn how to do that, they will always have food problems. Haiti must have an agricultural department managed by the UN and the Haitian government just to make sure that it is sound and secured. That will also provide lots of jobs for country.

Preval is a coward for allowing the U.N. to remain in Haiti; there is no reason fo them to remain in the country but to suppress the mass. The people are starving, there's no infracture and yet president preval agreed to contunue supporting these mercenaries.

United Nations and Al-Quaeda are both terrorist organizations with different purpose.
.The U.N. terrorizes Africans and African descendents while Al-Quaeda terrorizes the slave holding nations.
.The only difference is: The United Nation is controlled by the slave holding nations.

In the late 60's haiti sold for almost $2m. a week.

Haiti sold tomatoes to soup Campbell's. Haiti had a department of agriculture. In Haiti we had a lot of fruits. My dad used to go to l'arthibonite to buy fruits every week. We had food under the grand-father's reign. Now Haiti does not produce anything. I'm going make you laugh. Haiti graduates 40 agronomists every 4 years. Where are they? What are they doing? I am unable to answer you. All I know it is a disgrace for Haiti to turn out so poor, so indigent

Haitians don't own most of the tillable land in Haiti. It is owned by the diaspora and by people who are content to let the land stay fallow.
Also, farmers don't have title to their land. It is owned by absentee landlords. Until the legislature is willing to change the land ownership system, Haiti will not be food selfsufficient.
