British politicians are NOT responsible for happenings in Cyprus. The government in Cyprus is accountable for property fraud in its country, so don't lay the blame elsewhere.

The Cypriots are selling properties belonging to others to foreigners - get your facts straight and stop passing the buck. Funny how it's NEVER the fault of the Cyps, always someone else.

What about all those brits who bought properties in the North part of Cyprus which belong to others, live in them and consider them as theirs.Isn't that a property fraud as well?

The Brits who purchased these properties were not led to believe fraud was involved. They bought in good faith. IF some Brits knowingly purchased property which was owned by a TC/GC and they had been displaced due to the 1974 issues, them 'shame on them' too.(The Brits).

A major problem in Cyprus is the lack of Title Deeds. I have been waiting 4 years for mine, which is nothing compared to some who are yet to receive their deeds after 20 or more years.

I do sympathise with the Cyps who have lost their homes, but this is a matter for Cyprus to resolve, and crack down on the crooked developers and builders.

A society full of fraud, with laws only for the well connected Cypriots, dishonest practices by lawyers (biggest crooks), an attorney general who requests advanced payment to look into illegal actions and a court system that is a joke and serves no purpose other than keeping attorneys employed?

Wake up people and get back in touch with reality. A lawless country with no respect for civil rights and no system in place to offer protection for all locals and foreigners who choose to live or invest in Cyprus is an entity that should not be part of the international community. What is wrong with the EU for tolerating this kind of behavior and condoning illegal practices?
Unless the victims sue and make the Cypriot government accountable for failing to enforce laws to protect the victims this kind of behavior will continue. Fincancial cost and world wide publicity seems to be the only option left to fight injustices in Cyprus. The leaders of this island have to realize that by failing to act to protect against illegalities and injustices they are responsible and legally to blame for these problems. More lawsuits against the country and more publicity in major newspapers will get the attention needed to finally make the Cypriot government take notice.

forget the north for a minute and understand that not all problems have a scapegoat. Forget the Brits as well and look at the problem for what it is. Is one of the many illegal injustices affecting many who deal with Cyprus. The ethnicity of the victims is not the issue here but the crimes that are being committed. Not all victims are British and not all crimes should be justified by the Cypriots only because they are victims of Turkey. If you commit a crime you are a criminal and being a victim yourself doesn't hold water in a court of law. Cyprus reputation around the world is at stake. aphrodite is not the first think that comes to mind when people hear about Cyprus. We all seem to have a friend or a relative who has been victimized by the Cypriot system. The lawyers in Cyprus are the lawmakers and the lawbreakers of the island and everybody knows that breaking the law over there is the norm and not the exception. It is all about connections and you can get away with murder. What about those two children who were abused by their mother. Why didn't the school or the neighbors bring their concerns to the authorites to protect those children. The children were bullied in school for smelling so bad and neighbors are now coming forward with horror stories. Why keep quiet when abuse of innocent children is so obvious. What is the purpose to the police in Cyprus?
Too much is going on over there and too many abuses in all levels and as long as people like you, a local still justifies them, there will never be any change. Unless of course somebody sues Cyprus and the international community gets involved. Maybe and maybe then the Cypriots will wake up and realize that there are laws to be followed if you want to be part of this world and you have to learn to protect others if you expect protection from others yourself.

It's the world that's full of fraud and injustices;It's the leaders of this world that have failed humanity.I'm not finding excuses for the way things are in Cyprus but lets look at the bigger picture first solve that and then attach the Cyprus Govt and it's people;and when you can solve the world problem maybe then you can start talking about situations in countries like Cyprus and many others like it??????????Corruption in this world is driven by the almighty dollar mainly Britain and Usa 'i say no more'
