Turks and Greeks don't like each other for many reasons. Could name many occasions that have caused very unstable conditions between them. Look into there history and you will be shocked at the conflicts that have occurred.
since Turkish invasion of north Cyprus conflicts between the two communities is now a thing of he past, peace at last.

1. When someone legalizes their theft as in Turkey did (with the blackmailing so called agreements.....) in Greek Cyprus there is no peace.
2. When half of Greek Cyprus is occupied there is no peace.
3. When a minority which is Turkey overrules the majority which is the greek cypriots there is no peace.
4. When most of the greeks homes are occupied by the Turkish invaders there is no peace

My people (Greeks) are hopelessly sentimental and suffer from delusions of grandeur.
That explains a lot.
Greeks like the Kurds. Greeks like all oppressed people fighting for freedom. We have lived under occupation ourselves so we sympathize with those people.
Greeks love the Cypriots. Maybe because they are the only ones in the world who also speak greek. Maybe because they don't know them very well and haven't realized that the Cypriots secretly hate us. Personally I don't like them. I think they're extremely arrogant and only call us "brothers" for political reasons.
But the truth is half their country is still under occupation by your country. How could they not hate you? That's not something that happened in the distant past, it's happening right now. And it's just wrong mate. You should recognize the wrongdoings of your country if you want to be impartial.
I've been in Turkey once, many years ago, and I have to say people were very friendly when we told them we were Greeks. I didn't expect that. Everyone back in Greece had warned me that we would face hostility. Not true. It's just another one of those lies that are spoon-fed to us from a young age. I discover them one by one as I grow older.
It is a fact though that Turkey is a constant threat to my country and has threatened with war several times in recent years. Maybe it's not the fault of the Turkish people, but under the circumstances hatred should not come as a total surprise to you, should it?
On the other hand greek TV is flooded with turkish series which people are crazy about. Go figure! It seems we just love to hate you after all.
