Why Turkey didn't call for International court
in 1974 instead of unilateral illegal occupation?
How effective is the international court?? You expect people to have faith in the UN and its machinery?! How many massacres have they stood by and watched!

In Yugoslavia effective

In the case of Cyprus

it was very easy to make it

RoCyprus was a small island with no
strong central government and army
where everybody knew what happened

UN-USA-UK could easily invade and arrest all
the guilties

Cyprus is not Africa(Sudan,Uganda) or Chechnya (Russia)

Easy in your mind, but was it a realistic suggestion and if so by whom? We all know that we still do not have a highly sophisticated international court 0r mechanisms. You cite Yugoslavia, was this before or after Srebenica?

As you have so much faith in the int community, what do you think about the rejection of the Annan Plan which was endorsed by them?

UN/USA/UK Invasion in the period 1963-1974
would solve the problem

In Yugoslavia every state now is free
many have been convicted
not only Serbs

Annan Plan was the opposite

it didn't call for International court
about the intercommunal violence
to isolate the guilty Cypriots from the
innocent ones

As we all know the UK refused to act in typical fashion.

I have said many times of the need for a reconciliation process of sorts.

But you will also find that many TCs, apart from the hardcore left will agree that the Turkish intervention was necessary. What some may argue is that the need to still be there is highly questionable.

The int. community has failed to act on many an occasion, this is no secret. As for the question of war criminals, again we are on shaky ground as some activists would have George Bush and Tony Blair in the dock.

But then there is no point talking about 'what if' either. It is fruitless and pointless and is indicative of the approach to this whole situation. What is needed is what can be and what will be

I am a greek cypriot. I am against extremist groups no matter where they are from. I hate the grey wolves AND hrisi avgi. They grey wolves killed tssos isaak and solomos solomou because they are fascists. Normal turks would not do that. I met Turkish Cypriots in Cyprus and we get on well together. We are friends and they are very good people. Even other greek cypriots get on well with them. But hrisi avgi members are fascists and they are the ones who don't accept non-greek people. Both turkish fascists and greek ones killed people because they are bad. They are the ones to blame for the partition of Cyprus. But I am sure that normal turks and greeks of cyprus will be able to live together.

So you are not an extremist and you call yourself a nice guy? Aren't you the same guy who uses foul and disgusting language to describe the President of my country and aren't you the one who pollute this forum with racist and offensive language? Mr. Pacifist, wanting to kill people and violently insult and offend them and their religion is a form of terrorism and you are an extremist. Hating and wishing death on people based on their ethnicity and religious beliefs is extreme and so is imposing and offending people with yourweird and sick language. You are up there with the best extremist. It is very comforting to know you are a Cypriot. Now you are attempting to embarrass your ocmpatriots as well?
