According to several Turkish sources and Journalists none of them is alive.
The majority of them were prisoners of war that were executed blind folded and buried in mass graves.

About two-three hundred were older people,women and children that were taken as hostages and were executed by TMT terrorists.

The Turks had called the invasion of Cyprus a peace operation but they killed over 6,000 Greek Cypriots.

As to the present,Turkey still occupies 38% of Cyprus territory and continues its manipulation of the international community by an orchestrated propaganda in order to get recognition of the occupied Northern Cyprus as an independent Turkish state.

Dig the Greek Cyprus;
During the coup more than 3000 Greek Cypriot supporters of Makarios and supporters of the Communist party AKEL were killed and an annihilation plan called AKRITAS was put into effect to exterminate Turkish Cypriot people.

Here are the missing Greeks;
.

On April 17, 1991, Ambassador Nelson Ledsky testified before the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee that "most of the 'missing persons' disappeared in the first days of July 1974, before the Turkish intervention on the 20th. Many killed on the Greek side were killed by Greek Cypriots in fighting between supporters of Makarios and Sampson."

On Nov. 6, 1974, Ta Nea reported that dates from the graves of Greek Cypriots killed in the five days between July 15-20 were erased in order to blame these deaths on the subsequent Turkish military action.
On March 3, 1996, the Greek Cypriot Cyprus Mail wrote: "(Greek) Cypriot governments have found it convenient to conceal the scale of atrocities during the July 15 coup in an attempt to downplay its contribution to the tragedy of the summer of 1974 and instead blame the Turkish invasion for all casualties. There can be no justification for any government that failed to investigate this sensitive humanitarian issue. The shocking admission by the Clerides government that there are people buried in Nicosia cemetery who are still included in the list of the 'missing' is the last episode of a human drama which has been turned into a propaganda tool."
On Oct. 19 1996, Mr. Georgios Lanitis wrote: "I was serving with the Foreign Information Service of the Republic of Cyprus in London... I deeply apologize to all those I told that there are 1,619 missing persons. I misled them. I was made a liar, deliberately, by the government of Cyprus ..... today it seems that the credibility of Cyprus is nil."

The so called Akritas plan was from 1964.The coup occured in July 15th 1974.It was a ten years difference.

From a distance or from statemants made by people which change daily allot can be said.
When your part of it all,living it all and part of your family is involved the story is not the same.
I have a brother who was 18 at the time and was defending his country against an invader as many other G/C's were many of them are also missing.I saw him once before he went missing and we spoke in length.You are right in saying that some were killed before the invasion but the figure does not come to the amount that are missing nowhere near.The truth of it all will never be known.

Turkish Cypriots appealed to the Guarantor powers for help, but only Turkey was willing to make any effective response." On 20 July 1974 Turkey intervened under Article IV of the Treaty of Guarantee"—(UK Foreign & Commonwealth Office doc. CPS/75, Jan, 1987). The Greek newspaper Eleftherotipia published an interview with Nicos Sampson on 26 February 1981 in which he said "Had Turkey not intervened I would not only have proclaimed ENOSIS—I would have annihilated the Turks of Cyprus."

“Who Can Forget Or Forgive That The Loathsome Coupists Murdered Hundreds Of Cypriot Democrats, Some Of Whom They Buried Alive? Who Can Forget That They Were Planning To Murder About Ten Thousand, Mainly Leftists, In Order To Consolidate The Foreign-Based Fascist Regime they imposed?”
