Turkey’s EU Minister and Chief Negotiator Egemen Bagis has repeated the call for a quadruple summit on the Cyprus issue.
“Just as cardinals convene for a conclave and don’t leave the table until they choose the Pope, we as Turkey, Greece, the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and the Greek Cypriot Administration should meet at a summit and not leave the table before solving the Cyprus problem” Bagis said.
Addressing the meeting of the Turkey-EU Joint Parliamentary Committee at the Turkish Grand National Assembly, Turkey’s EU Minister Bagis expressed the hope that the solution process in Cyprus will hopefully be relaunched following the presidential election in South Cyprus, which is this Sunday.
“I hope a reasonable mentality emerges with the election of the new Greek Cypriot Leader and we restart the solution process. But if the new process fails, no one shall expect Turkey to obey any fait accompli of the EU” Bagis stressed.
“Let’s hold a summit and not leave the table before we solve the Cyprus problem. If Greece and the Greek Cypriot Side are in, we are ready too. It’s really tragicomic to see those, who continuously rejected all resolution plans, blaming us for the non-solution” he added.

Someone should ask
your Chief Negotiator Egemin Bagis why Turkey continues to import settlers from Anatolia first.

Stop listening to Bagis, who belongs to Turkey's famous idiotic trio. The trouble with him is that his suggestions are never intelligent. They are very elementary and predictable as if taken from a kindergarden thinktank. His problem is that he believes he is the only intelligent person around, underestimating anyone else. Look at the post he is holding, he is incharge of Turkey's effords to join the EU.( Chief negotiator!!) Not a very effective politician I would say judging from his results. What he needs to do is to use more threads and bully the EU much more than he does now. Another invasion of a small EU country may be helpfull as well as a military interference with the registered energy sites of the Republic of Cyprus, that are by the way the EU's energy deposits. How about blowing Noble's platform off the map?
