President Barack Obama signaled on Friday that a proposal to add a same-sex partnership measure to an immigration overhaul should not be allowed to derail the entire legislative effort.

It's another excuse for the GOPasaurs to torpedo immigration reform and thereby torpedo their chance at taking the Senate in '14 or the White House in '16 and beyond.

The Democrats don't have the votes for their illegal alien amnesty bill. They never leearn. They had a shot, then they piled on a bunch of crap until their own people won't vote for it. These guys have to stand for reelection in a year. They like their cushy job.

Which is all the more reason why I believe the immigration bill should not be muddied up with additional complications that might threaten its passage.

Mind you, I think the same-sex provision is an important issue, and should be taken up, but seperately. In fact I believe it would have a better chance once the basic immigration hurdle is overcome.

I really don't care either way. If the bill fails, the GOPasaurs will get trounced in the next elections for opposing immigration reform. If the bill passes, the Dems get all the credit and STILL do well in the next elections.

It's a win-win for the Dems; a lose-lose for the GOPasaurs.

agreed but what everybody has to understand is that if se sex isn't in the bill that they are still able to get married in Rhode Island..I personally don't believe in it but that is their problem.They going to answer to the man upstairs
