I require some assistance to translate a phrase from a Congolese language into English. If you can be of any assistance I would most be thankful…

My father lived and worked in the Congo (Lusanga) during 1985 to 1988. When he departed the people of the local region presented him with a gift. This gift was an intricate carving. A plaque at the bottom of the carving contained the following text,“muntu kutina ve a”. Two years after departing the Congo my father died in Tanzania.

I wish to discover what this text means… I am unsure of the exact language of this text (ie Kikongo, Lingala, Swahili or Tshiluba?)…

If anyone can provide any assistance with the translation of this text or the identification of language of origin, I would be most thankful.

Dear Sandy,
I do not know what language it is,but I can say to yo it far less beautiful than Lingala.Lingala is the most beautiful language in the world and I advice you to start learning it.

"My name is..."

"jina jani..."

The spelling might be off, but that's the pronunciation. My apologies but I grew up hearing it and haven't really mastered the writing.

I am also looking for the translation to Ye Ye Bonge and can't find anything. I even asked a friend who is a translator of Swahili and Congolese. Is the song you heard by Lea and Chloe?

Daily Horoscope for December 26

Pisces

Mercury's retro phase in Capricorn will raise questions in your mind about a friend or loved one during the next two weeks. You might wonder what they're playing at and have to ask them to be straight with you, or you could work hard at overcoming the current problems between you so you're able to enter a much more positive phase in your relationship.
