In an exclusive interview with the New York Times, R&B star Frank Ocean publicized his plans to move to Shanghai sometime after the 55th Grammy Awards on Sunday.
Ocean, nominated for six different categories in this year's Grammys, took home the top prize in the 'Best Urban Contemporary Album' category for his hit album Channel Orange.
The 25 year old American recluse/songwriter plans to take a two year hiatus from performing, splitting his time between working on a second solo album, and writing a novel.
So whats next? Ocean told me [Times reporter Jeff Himmelman] he was headed to Shanghai after the Grammys with his equipment in tow, some new recordings already in hand, and plans to write in remote locations for the next two years. In previous interviews he mentioned also wanting to write a book.Ive started writing the book, he told me.You can say that. Its fiction, and its about brothers. Thats all Im going to say.
