It matters a great deal. You see, you contended that the middle class is growing and the world should be grateful that it is. That is hardly the case - the world does not see the benefits of their growth.

Yes, his facts are wrong.

Bloggers have no credibility. I had urged you to consider the same. Do some due diligence.
to be honest I dont think China cares if the world see benefits from its growth...

people always ask can Chinese consumers save the world my reply is...

"it dosent need to it just needs to save itself..."

a Chinese envoy to the USA... basically said something along the lines of this...

a uneven recovery is better than a balanced recession...

in other words USA/EU your on your own.. we got our own problems..

as for your link im not sure why you posted it... it is just stating the true US trade deficit with China is probably lower than stated...

its not shocking as China has ramped up trading with partners around the world even its arch Enemy Taiwan their trade was up to 168 billion a year..

with Taiwan enjoying a trade surplus... as does countries like Japan and S Korea etc etc also enjoying a trade surplus with China

going back to your link... it just shows... the Taiwanese, Japanese Koreans... etc etc need to be adding those trade surplus numbers to their trade data... and the USA adding those numbers to its trade deficits with those countries...

in the end it dosent really matter... China is moving towards a service/consumer based economy

and they will have time to do it... as the American people and its politicians have no will to make the tough choices they need to make..

and will just kick the can down the road... make temporary measures and new debt ceiling limits...only to revisit them 6 months to 12 months down the road.. and kick the can down the road again...

since we last debated... I have changed my that to my view slightly...after finding out the US FED bought 61% of the treasury debt issued by the US Treasury in 2011... and no one gave a shiet...

i believe, the USA will continue to do so... or at least until the Chinese can double their wealth again in the next 4 years

Consumer spending takes over as driver of GDP growth
01 November 2012

Consumer spending in China was the biggest contributor to growth in economic output in the first three quarters of this year. Domestic consumption accounted for 55% of China’s GDP growth during the first nine months of the year, surpassing that of investment, which took only 50.5%.

Net exports of goods and services subtracted 5.5% from growth. Revised 2011 GDP figures from China’s National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) suggest that, contrary to the initial data release, consumption also took the largest share of GDP growth in 2011. According to the latest data published by NBS, consumption accounted for 55.5% of GDP growth last year. Investment took just 48.8% of total growth. This data has led many commentators to rethink the importance of domestic consumption to China’s economy.

I expected as much from you. It is interesting that you continue to believe that China is amazing yet you fled and have no intention of going back. That tells the tale.

Further, I forgot how you like to rumble through the internet looking for any blog that paints a rosy future for China. Sadly, you seem to forget that most of the world thought that all was well until the global economic collapse. Yes, the internet was replete with blogs proclaiming how bright the future was for anyone with invested monies.

Now, it seems, you believe that China will continue to grow without regard for history. China has experienced this fortune before. Japan experienced it as well. Predictions of glorious futures were crushed by reality. China will see this happen again. True communism has never succeeded. You cannot control a populace who is finally seeing what the rest of the world knows.

Not like that no more, they kowtow to Capitalism! But the US had lost its status in the world because our obnoxious US use hard power by bullying, warring , plundering, killing, stealing ... and taking other nations raw resources by force! while China use soft power and to the building other nations infrasturctures ,injecting FDI ,culture exchange and offer free education ... no wonder China is being respected for it approach in the world.
