Better yet how about you anser my question in my earlier post instead of doing the typical Chines thing and answering a question with another question.
"WHEN IS CHINA GOING TO RELAESE ALL IT'S JOURNALIST FROM PRISON"?
Because you have double standard while you talk about USA and china.

China is The People's Republic of Terrorism
She instills fear and terror in people
By threatening them with imprisonment
Torture and execution
And imparts dread and appall among small nations
By menacing them with the barrel of a gun
Occupation and expansionism
She inculcates fear and terror among big nations
By imperiling them with her pecuniary power
And sale of nuclear intelligence to the axis of evil
She incites dread and appall among the world
By endangering them with global warming,
Toxic poisoning and extravagant oil consumption

China is
The People's Republic of Terrorism
She instills fear and terror
By suppressing human rights
And imparts dread and appall
By choking freedom of speech
She infuses fear and terror
By crushing religious freedom
And inculcates dread and appall
By squelching any sign of dissent
She drills fear and terror
By subjugating the weak and harmless
And incites dread and appall
By silencing those who oppose her regime

China is truly
The People's Republic of Terrorism

I agree with you but the problem on this thread is the same problem we have on other threads. When the US or Britain violates human rights it becomes front page news and everyone talks about it, as they should. It is our responsibility in the west to point out our governments wrong doings and we need not hide those transgretions from others. They must be exposed. But whenever we talk about violations in other countries we're accused of spreading propaganda. There is NO political freedom in China. Does that mean I condemn the country as a whole? Of course not but anyone who can't see the truth as to the state of political freedom and journalistic freedom in China needs to get their head out of the sand.

I would just add that these problems cannot ever be "sorted" unless people are willing to have an honest conversation. As they sayin AA "the first step to recovery is to admit you have a problem".

Just how many journalists are in prison? Journalists are allowed to report on certain issues that will not harm the establishment of the government. Any act(s) to cause insurrection is an act of sedition and will be reason for imprisonment.
China is a country of 1.2 billion people. Most are poor would you risk the lives of the majority when the country is on a course to better its people, abeit slowly.
Law and Order must be kept, even though it would seem that it is authoritarion. It's a slow process China is undertaking, but it's improving and progressing to alevel where China can intergrate into the world order of the Western nations.
I don't think I have ever read more foolish comments. I guess you think the folks over at PBS should be imprisoned for their reports on the treatments of prisoners at Gitmo right? If not for that then they should surely be shut down for suggesting that Bush lied to start the Iraq war. Perhaps publications like the Nation magazine should be shut down for calling Bush a "traitor" and slaming US foreign policy? Perhaps we should also ban the Communist party. Perhaps you should be put in prison as anyone who thinks the way you do must surely oppose the government of Canada's position on many issues. Yes we should do away with press freedom and freedom of expression in order to protect the government. Great idea!

White people huh!? And I suppose non whites never lie. You are one of the most foolish posters I have ever encountered. Perhaps you should move to China where the non white folks in the government never "deny, deny, deny" any of their violations of basic human liberties.

My fellow Americans....Here's the facts folks:

Right now, according to Good Morning America, it is estimated that in New York City alone there are up to 1 Million illegal Chinese living there.

Since there is no health screening for illegals, 20-25% have Hepatitis, which I understand is both contagious and incurable.

Needless to say, you will never find me a Chinese buffet.

Think about folks. Just a word to the wise.

I think he is calling you "stupid" because you say that media is "state controlled" in the West----and that is a remarkably stupid statement. It is not, and all Chinese news websites are available here, and you can choose to buy CCTV stations as part of your cable TV package, or buy China Daily at the newstand. These sources of news are not popular due to their obvious distortions and stifling dullness, but that is another matter.

Do not spout the obvious lies of your masters to Westerners, and expect them to slavishly accept those lies as truth as you are forced to do. They are fortunate enough to live in a part of the world where they can and do freely speak their minds on all issues. You should be so lucky.

Please explain the meaning of 'human right' in USA?
There is more to it than this but here is a good starting point.

Article the seventh [Amendment V]

No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the Militia, when in actual service in time of War or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offence to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.

Article the eighth [Amendment VI]

If I gave you thousands of $USdollars with nothing in return, like a panhandler, a bum, then you'd be rich (at least have cash flow for living expenses such as renting a condo and leasing a car).
But what if you worked for me to utilize your labour in exchange for money? Or if you exchanged a product in exchange for my money?
USA is not giving FREE money. It is a trade.
You get the picture?
