I did but probably just like in class you did pay attention,$15000 is the wealthiest African country and since no country in Africa is considered wealthy, well that is my personal equivalent to the difference between RELATIVELY wealthy(okay countries because until they get to around $25,000 they are not wealthy) countries.

The IMF's standard is not very far from mine, they have their at $10,000, a point at which they estiminate that a country can be self sustaining. BUT most economist field a much higher figure sometimes of $20,000 sometimes even $30,000.

Once again, look at the list. The countries that are above $15,000 are relatively better off than counntries below that......dummy

You are full of shit and lacks common sense.

1. 10000 is not too far away from 15000? Are you stupid or stoned?
2. Sustainable have nothing to do with absolute numbers, Libya may have a higher GDP per capita due to oil and so forth but they were definately not sustainable you are giving examples to contradict your own conclusion, so again are you stupid?

No Lybia does not have a GDP/capita of $25000 per head, but it is closer than China, if they make the right choices at the right time they can be sustainable.

Economic sustainablity usually requires a higher GDP/ capita in order to raise household demand and thus make a country less dependant on exports. This is examplified when you compare China and Mexico, BEA estimates that U.S majority-owned affiliates in China employed 1 million workers in China in 2010, of which, almost 90% of them produce exports to the US.

In mexico the number stands at almost a quarter of this figure as the vast number of companies are geared to supply the local population.

BTW Libya's GDP/Capita stands at 17,665 almost 3 times that of China, therefore before the war Libyans had a living standard almost 3 times that of China's. Simple as that.

I guess it is alright to say that you are right, or else I wouldn't know 'What the hell' these people are talking.

Eh...Nokia is a Finnish company, not Scandinavian. I know you are a foreigner to Scandinavia, but don't be as confused as Norwegian Dreadman82.

Two highly successful scandinavian companies in my humble opinion are Swedish's IKEA and Danish's Lego. Ericsson is almost gone now.

Yes, I am sure your are right. You from Kagoshima? I go there almost biannually for holiday and enjoy sushi and spa. It has become much cheaper place to go recently due to weak yen. I know it is very far away, but is the Fukushima leak affecting the fish there?

Nokia has being becoming irrelevant these last couple years, so no big lose although most former co-workers and clients in Finland say its a blow to national pride. Yet for a nation of 5 million to have the world's 274th-largest company is a sign of great things in small packages. Unforturnately it became the victime of Iphone craze that has disturblized the entire world and relative to her 1.33 euros in profits, she was sold for rather more than she is worth.

Despite this Scandinavia still has Danish brand Novo Nordisk, Norwegian cheese brand Jarlsberg, Sweden has Absolut vodka, Astra in the AstraZeneca, Brio, Ericsson, H&M, IKEA, Saab and Scania, oh and LEGO.

Finland still hosts a range of global innovative brands a country like China only dreams of one day hundreds of years in the future, of having. Take for example the designers of Angry birds, Linux, AIV Fodder, bubble chairs; the Fashion label Marimekko and vodkas Finlandia and Diesel.

Nordic countries are just really good at cunning out quality and innovation the likes of which no one can deny, so no, North nordic Europe is not in decline.
